Pagbilao Cross-Island Bike Fun Ride 2003
November 23, 2003

The Pagbilao Bikers Club Inc invited bikers and cyclists from adjacent provinces to join this fun ride. True to our promise, the participants enjoyed the scenery and everyone experienced that they can get out of LUZON mainland and hop into another island by crossing the sea on board their bike without using a boat.

From within Quezon, the participants are from the towns of Lopez, Pagbilao, Tayabas, Lucena, Sariaya, Lucban, Mauban, Candelaria, Tiaong. From outside Quezon, there are participants from San Pablo City (Laguna). Marinduque Province won three thropies for being the biggest(47 pax), farthest and earliest delegation. The bikers came either as clubs, buddies or just individuals. Three hundred (300)joined.

THE ROUTE WAS DESIGNED TO ALLOW BEGINNERS AND OCCASIONAL RIDERS TO PARTICIPATE. SORRY TOUGH GUYS, THIS IS NOT A RACE!

The above picture taken atop Quipot Bridge. A great accomplishment to see 300 bikers crossing the sea on their bicycles. Individual certificates were issued for this feat.

THE ROUTE TOOK THE RIDERS TO CROSS THE SEA AT QUIPOT BRIDGE

We did not expect the fun ride will become international when Pasquale, an Italian-Canadian joined together with the Sariaya Mountain Bikers (SMB). He, at 210lbs, was a co-winner as the heaviest biker

Everyone rode safely at the "Aluyan" (hammock)after we controlled the approach and asked the bikers to proceed one at a time. In the foreground is the Police Chief of Tiaong who is one of the eager participants.
