The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Benim Foster, Mark Giordano, Jesse Joyce, Matthew Rauch, Jessica Faller
Jack and his pals are in a bit of a rut. They've spent 2 decades chasing women and fleeing commitment. They're not quite alcoholic -- more like "alcohol-ish".
Jack is about to turn 40, and he's starting to see hidden messages in everyday street signs. Snedden's goal in life is to f@#% his way through the alphabet. Price is 1 drink away from a total meltdown. Victor is a "fretrosexual" -- he never has sex, just worries about it.
When a long-lost friend pops up with his beautiful fiancée, the result is a whirl of death, sex and booze -- and Jack realizes he may finally be ready to commit... to the one woman hopelessly out of reach.

Among all the Teen horror and comedies we see going to theaters this little gem sneaks on to DVD this week and if you like a no holds bar comedy I recommend checking it out. There's really not much to add plot wise that isn't already written above, it's a pretty straight forward story but a few things separate this one from the comedies you are use to seeing. First off this is an adult comedy so beware, now one of things that makes this so different is that even though there are raunchy jokes in the film and nudity it's dialogue is both smart and clever. I noticed it had received good reviews before watching it but I still remained hesitate so not to get my expectations up too high. Right the the start I knew I was in for one of those comedies that just doesn't come around too often.
The cast did a terrific, the four main male leads are all great giving both hilarious and realistic performances. Plus they play off of each other perfectly, the chemistry couldn't be better. In fact the entire cast including those who play supporting roles did a great job in the film.
The film looks great and production wise the film looks well-above what the budget might suspect. "Stags" isn't going to be for everyone, it contains some harsh language and some nudity but if you like a good adult comedy then I highly recommend checking it out. Some might pass this over thinking it's just another "B" comedy but I am here to tell you that it's not that at all, it's a well-written, well-acted comedy that will have you laughing out loud all the way to the end. I'm sure there's a few lessons to be learned about relationships or lack there of here as well but I was too busy having a good time time to take notice.

A gem of a comedy, another example of why Independent cinema is so damn good.
