The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Michael Madsen, David Carradine, Michael Blain-Rozgay, Ernest Anthony, Shane Woodson, Carlie Westerman
Assembled for a covert operation to take down drug traffickers, four hit men get more than they bargained for after saving an orphan girl from the baddies the quartet is battling. When the assassins' charge imperils the mission, they become the prey.
When I sat down to watch this one I was expecting one of brainless action films with characters delivering cheesy lines, entertaining but senseless none the less but what I got was a completely different film altogether and a surprising film filled with more than just action scenes. Michael Madsen has always been a likable actor and again I enjoyed him here as well. The film also stars the late David Carradine in one of his final roles, the man was really busy before his death because his films just keep getting released. Carradine was also very good here and it is sad to think that this is one of last times we will get to see in anything new. The entire cast did a terrific job but what set this one apart from other movies like it is that it is much more than just an action flick, sure you do get good action but it also contains some very interesting characters that you take a liking to right off the bat. The four hitman and all very different people but it is nice them open up about things such as race. The story is well-written, it is funny and at times moving. The story also contains a good message as well which is givin' to us through the interaction of the four men, each one very different but in the end you learn we are all created equal. For those looking for an all out action flick I would have to say look elsewhere but that would be a shame because you would be missing out on a film that is smart, funny and thought-provoking while still supplying some great action. An great intelligent Independent film that delivers with great dialogue, characters and a top-notch cast. This is one of those gems you never heard of before but starting this week when it makes it's way to DVD strong word of mouth will follow. I cannot recommend this film enough, I had a fantastic time watching it and think everyone else will as well. If you like movies like "Reservoir Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction" then this is a must own. The DVD comes with special Features that include:
