The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Aimee Teegarden, Danielle Campbell
At "Prom", every couple has a story and no two are exactly alike. For Nova Prescott (Aimee Teegarden), it's a classic tale of opposites attracting when she finds herself drawn to the guy (Thomas McDonell) who gets in the way of her perfect prom. Share the laughter and the drama as secrets are brought to light, seemingly steady relationships unravel and new romance catches fire.
Walt Disney is known world wide for providing family entertainment so I was a bit surprised at some of the negative reviews for this film. Sure the film has cliche story lines and characters that are not really believable if you compare them to our real life teens today but it also has things we can all relate to like the jock and the girl everyone likes or wants to be, the loner and the oddball, the wiz student and the awkward kid, the gossip we all heard and the one couple who seem destined to be together forever. Like I said it's a PG rated film for the entire family and I thought the film contained enough to entertainment teenagers as well as adults. The target audience is obvious here but teens could be watching a lot worse than this film. The film is a chick flick at heart but I think there's enough in it for guys too, the Indie soundtrack is lively and fun and the performances are all fantastic. Don't let the lack luster box-office fool you because "Prom" is a much better film than you might think and it should do very well on DVD and Blu-ray.
Prom stars Aimee Teegarden (“Friday Night Lights”), Thomas McDonell (“The Forbidden Kingdom”), Danielle Campbell (“Prison Break”), Yin Chang (“Gossip Girl”), Nicholas Braun (“10 Things I Hate About You”), Jared Kusnitz (“The Secret Life of the American Teenager”), Jonathan Keltz (“Entourage”), De’Vaughn Nixon (“Sonny with a Chance”), Nolan Sotillo (“Corey and Lucas for the Win”), Cameron Monaghan (“Corey and Lucas for the Win”) and Raini Rodriguez (“I’m in the Band”). "Prom" is available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, Movie Download and On-Demand, the DVD and Blu-ray both come with Special Features that include, an hilarious, laugh out loud short “Last Chance Lloyd,” deleted scenes, music videos and more. As cliched as it might be there's still plenty to like and enjoy about the film and like I said before the target audience, our teenagers are source to have a good time watching it.
