When college-bound "animal whisperer" Maya Dolittle (Kyla Pratt) assists movie star Tiffany Monaco's (Tegan Moss) Chihuahua, she gets sucked into the allure and flashiness of Hollywood after an impressed Tiffany offers her a plum television gig. But Maya's wisecracking mutt, Lucky, helps her hold on to her perspective -- and her true dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Kyla Pratt returns to play Maya, the daughter of the famous Dr. Dolittle. This time around Maya is offered her own Television show after helping Tiffany solve a major problem but those behind the show have their own reasons and are out to use Maya for their own gain. If you really want to compare these spin-off films to Eddie Murphy's original then you can maybe that none have even come close to being as good but if your looking for something light you can watch with the little ones then this is a perfect film for just that. I was taken in by everything going on here, there is plenty happening and the animals, well I do not think you can find any cuter. The film also gives some lessons and sends some nice messages along the way but it is after all a family film and it would be nothing without a lot of colorful fun and this installment provides a lot of entertainment and laughs along the way. I think it is the best Dr. Dolittle film to come out in awhile and it will have the little kids in your home sitting in awe till the very end. The main lesson learned here is to just be honest with yourself and do the right thing regardless of the situation. Aside from that this is just pure fun and who doesn't like a film filled with talking furry creatures, if you have children this is a must own DVD and if not and you are just young at heart looking for something to escape the outside world even if only for a short time then I highly recommend picking this one up.
