A terrifying story of a young girl who wakes up in a casket with a traumatic head injury and no memory of her identity. She quickly realizes she was abducted by a Deranged Serial Murderer and in an isolated rural town she must survive the night and outsmart the technologically inclined killer who is hellbent on finishing what he started.

The opening scene with the young girl falling out of the casket sets the stage for what is to come and if your a fan of slasher movies you are in for a treat. Writer/Director,Robert Hall has worked on many movies and television shows in the Makeup Department and his experience pays off here. first this is a simple, straight forward horror film that doesn't try to be something more and I think it benefited from that. Back to the effects in the film, the crew did a fantastic job with the makeup effects here, I am not going to ruin any of it here as I think you need to just watch the film to know what I am talking about but I can say they are some of the best killing effects I have seen in a horror film in some time. You go into a film like this not expected a good story or even good acting but I felt for the most part the lead actors were all very good including Bobbi Sue Luther,Kevin Gage and the talented and beautiful Lena Headey. I can say with all the horror remakes and just plain bad movies coming out in this genre lately it is refreshing to see something original as this, the Chrome Skull design was very awesome and it gave the character that coolness about him if that is possible with a crazed killer. Still I loved the mask and just about everything about this movie. If your a fan of slice em up slasher movies then you are going to want to own this DVD this week. The last horror film like this that I enjoyed was "Hatchet" which was a great flick in its own right but I think Laid To Rest was even better than that. This is a film that you will watch over again and tell your friends about. The DVD comes with Special Features that include:

Audio Commentary with Writer/Director Robert Hall and Actor/Producer Bobbi Sue Luther
