Save Your Soul Before They Take It From You.Beside the body of a dead soldier these words are written in blood in the ancient language of the Vikings. But what does the warning mean?Adrian Paul of Highlander fame stars in this pulse-pounding action/horror film packed with terrifying special effects and inspired by history's most tantalizing unsolved mystery. In 1587 over 100 brave men and women set sail from Britain to establish the first English colony in the Americas. They landed on Roanoke Island off the coast of Virginia. They built a settlement and planted crops. Then they disappeared without a trace... There's been so many SciFi Channel movies that have shown great potential but in the end they failed, but you cannot expect a big Hollywood production from these as they are made for Television after all. Lost Colony is being pushed as being based on true events but I am sure liberties were taken but again most film are, even ones claiming to be based on a true story. For starters I liked what I seen as far as the cast goes, how can you not like Adrian Paul and Rhett Giles has been a regular for "The Asylum" and one of their better actors as well. Both do a great job with the material that was given to them. The film is well paced and there's plenty of carnage along the way. The settings were really good and made for some great atmosphere, you feel like you are really in the 1500's. The effects for what they are were also well done and theres some good suspense along the way and plenty of action. Based on the true story of the Lost Colony, where the first 117 settlers mysteriously disappeared on Roanoke Island, North Carolina in 1587, the film gives you the option that maybe there was something supernatural at pay here and the theme works well. If your looking for something different and entertaining to pass the time this is a title to pick up. Released by Allumination FilmWorks. *** 1/2 Out Of *****
