Sex sells in America and these guys know it. The Amateurs follows a small town band of loveable losers who hit upon an idea that can make their dreams and fantasies come true. Thinking they've found the road to riches and fame they decide to make the world's most innocent adult film. Everyman's fantasy turns into a hilarious misadventure when they find they're in way over their heads.

The film follows a group of guys tha have way too much time of their hands, Andy, is the leader you might say and one that when thinking too hard comes up with some crazy ideas, ones that seem to get the rest of the people in trouble so when he comes up with his new idea they are all kinda leary at first. The film has a fantastic cast besides Jeff Bridges you have, Joe Pantoliano, Ted Danson, William Fichtner, Tim Blake Nelson and Patrick Fugit and everyone plays a character that is so off the wall yet you still gotta feel for them and care about them in a strange kinda way. This is an adult comedy so be warned to watch this when the little ones are not around. When going into this I loved the cast so I was hoping for at least a decent film here, don't forget this was made in 2005 but only now is it making it's way to DVD and a lot of times that spells disaster but I was dead wrong here. The Amateurs is a highly entertaining comedy, sure it has it's raunchy humor but always it's a clever film that is well-written and very funny. I found the writing to be stellar and the direction and pace as well was top-notch. You rarely get to see an adult comedy made for adults that is hilarious but never does it offend. I also liked the way I also liked the way Jeff Bridges character's narrative, it gave the film that extra something special and I don't think the movie would of been as good without it. Sad the film never got the attention it deserved at the time of release but it's great to see it finally out because this is a fun-filled romp that is a must-own. The DVD comes loaded with special features that include,5.1 Dolby Digital Surround, "Making Of" featurette, Previews, Spanish Subtitles, Closed Caption. Released by First Look Studios. **** Out Of *****
