Wannabe rocker Tony returns to his college town with one goal: to reconnect with the woman of his dreams, his ex-girlfriend, Rosemary. But his life changes drastically when he winds up joining rock band Neowolf, led by Vince and Paula. Suddenly he's pulled into a dark world, and Rosemary soon seeks help from a mysterious woman.
Once in awhile, sometimes more often then you would like you pick up a film that looks good going off the DVD cover and the synopsis on the back but after you begin watching it you find out that to doesn't live up to what you were expected. Neowolf aka The Band From Hell falls into that category, there are some good things about the film like I felt the acting was pretty good considering what they had to work with here but over-all the film suffers from some bad writing and direction and the effects could of been a lot better even for a low-budget horror film. I try to be someone that finds something good in all movies, after-all their just entertainment but this one made in a little tough to do. The film plays more into the music part than the actual horror and it doesn't really contain much in the way of gore either and the werewolves just were not that impressive at all I can see going for something a little different since the budget clearly wasn't there but they don't look anything like a werewolf. Okay lets take what was written above and flip it, I did find much of the movie to be pretty bad, in fact I found myself laughing at scenes that were not meant to be funny in the first place but oddly in the end I didn't feel like it was a waste of time..I some how had fun,a guilty pleasure you might say so if you are a fan of the really low budget horror you might want to check this one out, just don't expect a lot from it, sit back and just go with it you get some good laughs out of it.
Released by Lions Gate Home Entertainment.
