The game of cat-and-mouse is on as Chromeskull’s assistant, Preston (Brian Austin Green, Desperate Housewives), scrambles to tie up the loose ends left behind after his deranged boss’s last killing spree. He finds that he likes taking care of business—maybe a little too much. One bloody mess leads to another and the bodies pile up in a visual feast of the most spectacular kills ever filmed.

"Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2" picks up immediately after the first movie ends at the gas station with ChromeSkull presumably dead while the cops arrive and the two lone survivors make their getaway, but things are not what they seem and the worst is yet to come. We quickly find out ChromeSkull works for an organization that is completely behind every sick fantasy he could ever even think of wanting to videotape. At the head of this organization is Preston, a twisted indivual himself who wants to be the next Chromeskull. As Preston tries to complete what ChromeSkull left Jesse enters the picture and becomes the next would be victim. Meanwhile, Tommy cannot shake what he witnessed, his paranoia hits a new high when he is asked back to the police station only to find out Chromeskull is not dead and is looking to finish what he started.

When "Laid to Rest" was released back in 2009 it introduced us to a cool new icon of horror that was one of the most vicious slashers to come along in some time so when it was announced there was going to be a second film you can only imagine the applauds from horror fans everywhere. I for one was really excited and looked forward to seeing what Chromeskull had in store for us this time around. Most sequels are never as good as their originals and this is the case her but it's not all bad, in fact "Laid to Rest 2" still brings plenty to the table.

On the down side the story is a bit weak and confusing at times and some of the acting is also a bit weak at well but over-all the cast did a pretty good job. One the good side the film brings more of same as far as gore goes and believe if you're a fan you are not going to be disappointed here. There are some clever and very graphic kills that will have fans cheering. I already mentioned that parts of the film were a bit confusing and that continues to the end but I thought the final scene was a very clever way to end the film.

The bottom line here is that "Laid to Rest 2" is a worthy sequel that should leave most fans wanting more. If you never seen the first film I suggest you do and make it a double feature, two highly entertaining slasher films that deliver on what matters most...gore.
