The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Dominic Purcell, Holt McCallany, Vinnie Jones, Randy Couture
Special Agent Ross's (Randy Couture) plans to reconcile with his ex-fiance are ruined when she boards a private jet that is targeted by hijackers working for the same crime lord he is chasing. With no time to inform his team, Ross wriggles his way aboard the aircraft and risks it all to save the love of his life.
"Hijacked" is about Paul Ross who is a special agent, he is great at getting the bad guys but his personal life is another story. When Ross boards a plan that he believes is being targeted by hijackers he sees his ex is on the flight as well so he decides to go along for the ride in order to protect her.
This is a straight to video release and for good reason. The story is all over the place, much of what happens doesn't make much since and neither does the decisions that are made by the characters but this was a vehicle for UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture so I wasn't really expecting much from it and I kept my expectations low. Let's be honest here Couture isn't much of an actor and it shows here since he is playing the lead character but we all know he can kick butt so the fights scenes are all well done, there's one point in the film when the bad guy asks Ross, "You got a weapon?"..I thought to myself he is one. The rest of the cast did a good job all things considered here. There's nothing great about the production here either but it is a step above anything you might see on the Syfy Channel.
I can't sugar-coat this movie very much but it is what it is, it's not hard to figure out that this is a low budget film before you even put it in your dvd player so you know what you're getting here. What you get is a story we have all seen before but in better versions, still the film does have some good fights and even a nude scene for you guys out there. If you're a fan of Couture or just enjoy these in air thrillers then I say pick it up but if you're expecting something like "Air Force One" then stay away from this. "Hijacked" is average fare at best there's no real emotion or suspense to keep you glued to the screen but it's a decent time waster if that is what you're looking for.
Hijacked" is available on both DVD and Blu-ray and you can order it HERE.
