When Miley Stewart (aka pop-star Hannah Montana) gets too caught up in the superstar celebrity lifestyle, her dad decides it's time for a total change of scenery. But sweet niblets! Miley must trade in all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood for some ol' blue jeans on the family farm in Tennessee, and question if she can be both Miley Stewart and Hannah Montana. With a little help from her friends and awesome guest stars Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts and Vanessa Williams, will she figure out whether to choose Hannah or Miley?

As a Critic I have to watch movies I would not normally watch by myself, my 15-year-old daughter watched this before me and then again with me because she really enjoyed the movie so going into it I had some hopes based off the fact that the film seemed to reach its target audience. The story is simply, Hannah seems to be letting her fame get to her and she seems to be losing contact with who she really is, Miley Stewart. After upsetting Lilly at her 16th Birthday party by showing up as Hannah and taking the spotlight away her Dad, Robby decides it is best to take Miley back home to Tennessee in hopes that she finds herself. That is the basic story line and I am not going to go into any more details so not to ruin the movie for anyone out there that is waiting to see it. But what I can tell you is the film is filled with plenty of fun music and laughs along the way as well as a few tender moments as well. The appeal to me was Billy Ray as I have always been a fan and it is nice to see someone rebound from a backlash like he had after his hit single "Achy Breaky Heart." Miley is a fresh Young talent and at least to this point is a star for the young ones to look up to and at least her music isn't offensive in any way. I even enjoyed the music here and thought the song, Hoedown Throwdown was both fun and refreshing. The acting was all very good but I expected that as you are not dealing with a singer here that hasn't acted before. Like I said before this was not aimed toward adults but surprising I found it to have the appeal to be complete family fun everyone can enjoy together. Also the film was not without giving a few lessons along the way and I think in a film directed towards the young that it is always an important thing to do. What Hannah taught us is to just be yourself and always remember your family and friends. I have to tell you the score below is based off what this film brought to the targeted audience it was after and I got to say I found that it delivered on all levels and was a film all young ones will enjoy and have multiple viewings of. This is a must own for any of you with kids, it has some great, fun music for the kids as well has some great wholesome entertainment.
