Three wildly different New York cops whose paths collide in a Brooklyn housing project, where each must make a decision that will change the course of their lives forever. Cynical, washed-up Eddie (Richard Gere) no longer cares about the job or the rules; cash-strapped Sal (Ethan Hawke) sees a shortcut to solvency; and Tango (Don Cheadle) is torn between conflicting loyalties.

Brooklyn's Finest is a film that doesn't offer up anything really new as far as the genre goes but it still has an interesting enough story and a cast that delivers. The film is a character driven piece which relies on it's cast to deliver on their roles and each and every one does, you have Don Cheadle as an undercover cop looking to just get out, you also have Richard Gere as a older cop who is a week away from retiring and all he wants to do is make it out alive. Then you have Ethan Hawke as a cop who is looking to steal some money for his family which is growing. Also you have Wesley Snipes as the drug lord, it is nice to see him back in a major film and him and Cheadle have great chemistry together. If you had to describe the film I would say it's a bit like "Crash" with it's multiple story-lines all going on at once. The film is not a happy one, it is a dire, violent film but the characters seem so real you really begin to care for each one of them. Mostly drama till around 35 minutes or so left in the film when the action kicks in so don't go into this expecting a lot of action, the film is about these men and their struggles and choices they made in their lives. It is nice to see such a wonderful cast together in one film and each one is exceptional. If you like the cop genre I highly recommend picking this one up, even without all the action and explosions you will be instantly taken in by the characters in the film. Pick it up today you will be glad you did. The film is available on both DVD and BLU-ray and has special features that include:
