The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Joshua Burrow, Stephanie Fieger, Daniel Brennan, Tim Douglas, Dylan Mars Loff, Liam Seide
Sex, drugs, rock & roll—Christian is a man who’s made a few mistakes. He and wife Jamie are giving marriage one last shot for the sake of their son. But when Christian proves unable to give up his hard-partying ways, the malicious clown in the closet helps decide their fate.
Right from the start you can tell that there's some animosity between Christian and his wife Jamie. Jamie is willing to try and work things out for the sake of their little boy but she has a hard time trusting Christian when he can't stop partying with his friend. Then there is their young son, Dylan who seems like just another kid but he's far from being normal. It seems he has a clown that lives inside his closet who he has conversations with and some of them are very spooky to say the least. Christian is having a hard time dealing with his past problems and once he finds out a scam he had set-up with his friend falls through he really begins to spiral out of control. He also begins seeing the clown as well everywhere he goes.
"All Dark Places" keeps you in the dark on what the clown is really up to if anything, is he a figment of their imagination or something much more sinister? That's the great thing about the film, it never really reveals much till the right time. We all know clowns are spooky characters in any film but it reaches new heights here. This is one of those movies that the less you know about it the better but I can tell you that it was great to finally see a clever, smart and scary horror film for a change that doesn't insult your intelligence.
All Dark Places" is a horror film with great characters and it's story immediately grabs your attention and it keeps you hanging on till the final secrets are revealed. You really cannot compare this to any other horror film but I did sense some shades of "The Shining" especially towards the end of the film but don't think this is a rip-off because it is not, this is a tense, scary and mature horror film that easily stands out on it's own and it has a clown that will scare the shit out of you. The cast including Joshua Burrow as Christian, Stephanie Fieger as Jamie and Dylan Mars Loff as Dylan all give fantastic performances and Director, Nicholas Reiner keeps the film moving at a great pace and he keeps the suspense, mystery and scares coming till the credits begin to roll.
This is one of the better horror films I have seen in some time, at times the film is simply terrifying! If you're a fan of horror then you need to see this one, a must-see, must-own horror film that will have you telling friends and family about. The DVD will be released on June 26, you can order it HERE.
