Christina wadded up a piece of newspaper and placed it on the box on top of a picture frame. She placed another frame down in the box and wadded up what seemed like the millionth piece of newspaper and placed it in the box. When the box was full, she closed it and duck taped it shut.
"Chris?" She heard Taylor calling her name.
"In here." She said from her bedroom. She picked up the box and set it on her bare bed.
She heard his footsteps walk down the hall. He smiled and picked up the box that was on her bed.
"Almost done?" he asked.
"yeah." She said. She was packing up the picture frames that lined the stop of her dresser.
"Okay. I'm gonna take this one down." He said, giving her a nod.
"Okay." She said. Taylor walked out of the room with the box, and she turned her attention back to the pictures that still were on her dresser. She started taking them down, and one by one, putting them in the box. One in particular caught her eye. It was of her and Michelle at their high school graduation.
They were young and smiling, Michelle with her hair and makeup done perfessionally, and Christina with her long hair and glasses. Christina laughed at how dorky they looked, but yet so happy. She hadn't heard from Michelle in awhile. Michelle was married to David, and they had moved back home. Michelle had a little three year old girl, Belinda. Christina was very happy for them, but she missed her friend.
"Chris?" She didn't hear Taylor calling her name until he was in the room. "Chris?"
"Oh, I'm coming." She said struggling to get up from her spot on the floor. She grabbed the side of the bed to get up, then she managed to stand with the help from her husband.
"Honey, the doctor told you not to exert yourself." Taylor joked. He gave her a hug. Christina turned away from him to collect the rest of the pictures from the dresser. She put them in the box and sighed.
Taylor put his arms around his wife and hugged her from behind, sighed and rested his head on her shoulder. She leaned back against him as his hands slid from around her shoulders down to her lower stomach. He rubbed the ever growing bulge that was developing.
"This is so cool." he said, still rubbing her stomach, which was seven months along.
"My stomach fascinates you, doesn't it?" She asked him with a giggle.
"Well yes, but what really fascinates me is what's INSIDE your stomach." He said, kissing her neck.
"Ah, I see." She said.
"It's awesome." He said, rubbing it more.
"Well haven't you seen a pregnant woman before?" She joked.
Taylor chuckled. "Yeah, five times, but this is different." He said.
"Oh?"
"Yeah. This is........mine." He said, resting his hands on the top of her belly. "It's just so...incredible." He said.
Christina smiled at Taylor's words. Ever since she had found out in February that she was pregnant, Taylor had told her almost every day how much he loved to touch her stomach. She turned around and awkwardly hugged her husband. Her stomach was already huge for seven months, and it made it hard to do things such as hug, stand up, sit down, and sleep with.
She sighed. "I need to sit down." She said.
"Okay." he said. He lead her to the living room where the couch still sat. He stood in front of her as she held onto his hands, lowering herself down. She sighed as he flopped down beside her. She propped a pillow up on the side of her belly, knowing that Taylor would want to put his head down. He did so, and then he looked up at her.
"What?" She asked, smiling down at him.
"Well, the only bad thing about you being pregnant is the fact that I can't put my head in your lap anymore."
"Just two more months." She said.
"I know." he said excitedly. "So what were you looking at?"
"Oh, a picture of Michelle and I."
"Ah. We haven't heard from her lately, have we?" Taylor pointed out.
"Nope. Not since our wedding." She said. They had been married in April of last year, during their Junior year. It was now august of the next year, and they were moving out of Christina's old aparment.
"Yeah." Taylor said absentmindedly as Christina stroked his head.
"Do you remember all the nights we spent on this couch?" She asked.
"yeah." he said quietly. "The sunday night movies."
"You and your Sleepless in Seattle." She giggled.
"yeah." He replied sheepishly. "And remember that night in the bathroom?"
"Uh huh." She said.
"We've had some fun times."
"We sure have." She said.
Taylor poked her stomach. "And I have a feeling they're only going to get better."
