Isaac tried his best to tip-toe into the room, but Angela heard him and opened her eyes.
"Hey." He said, walking over to her bedside.
"Hi." She said softly. Isaac pulled the plastic chair over from the corner and sat down as close to the bed as he could get.
"How are you doing sweetie?" He asked quietly.
"I'm okay." She said.
"Good." he said, propping his elbows on the bedside. She lifted her hand and placed it on his. Isaac smiled softly at the warmth of it.
"So why did you crash?" He asked.
Angela closed her eyes and frowned. "I don't know." She said.
"What do you remember?" He asked.
"I.....I was just driving, and then the next thing I know, there's this pole, and I don't remember anything else. I woke up again and I was here."
Isaac sighed and looked at her bruised face. Her soft green eyes were full of tears.
"I'm sorry." She choked.
"Sorry for what?" He asked, looking at her intently.
"I...I...I was so stupid, I just crashed my car, I can't even drive well enough-"
"Shhhh." Isaac said, pressing his finger against her lips.
"It's okay. I'm just glad you're alright." He said.
"Really?" Angela said, a look of relief washing over her face.
"Really." He said.
She was silent for a moment, just feeling his hand inside hers.
"My mom was here earlier. And Zoe, and Zac, and Taylor, Shirley, and Quinn, and before that, my dad." He said.
"Oh, that was nice of them. They didn't have to."
"They were worried."
"Oh." Angela said, taking a deep breath, trying to calm down. She was quiet again for a few moments, and Isaac could tell she was thinking of something difficult.
"Isaac?"
"Hmmm?"
".....Were my parents there?" She asked.
Isaac looked in her green eyes, still teary and full of worry, and couldn't bring himself to answer.
