"Zac, stop." Quinn said, smacking Zac's hand away from the mashed potatoes he was serving.

"I just want a taste. To make sure they're alright." Zac said with a laugh.

"They're FINE." Quinn said, moving the bowl over a little. Zac was hovering over her, trying to get a taste of his mother's famous mashed potatoes.

"I know, but what if they're bad...I mean, someone should just check....." Zac snaked his finger towards the bowl and Quinn promptly smacked it away.

"Ow!" He exclaimed, yanking his hand back.

Quinn giggled. "That's what you get."

Zac pretended to pout. "I just wanted a taste." He said in a baby voice. He stuck his lower lip out.

Quinn laughed and ran the spoon she had been using to stir the potatoes with across his nose, leaving a streak of creamy white potatoes on his nose.

"Hey!" He exclaimed.

"Hey what?" She asked. Zac stopped laughing for a moment and started to lean in a bit when they heard footsteps in the hall. They stepped apart, and a freshly showered Diana walked into the kitchen.

"Hey you two." She said cheerily.

"Hey." They said in unison, not making eye contact.

Diana sensed something had been going on. "Mashed potatoes going okay?" She asked slowly.

"Yeah, they should be okay. You might want to test them." Quinn said.

"Alrighty You can go take a shower now. I'll give those a test." She said, taking the bowl from Quinn.

"Okay." Quinn said, taking off her apron.

Diana surveyed Zac, who was busy trying to wipe the potatoes off his nose. "I see Zacs already had a try." She said with a sly grin.

Quinn kept her eyes on the floor and laughed innocently. "Um, yeah. Uh, I'm gonna go..." She faded, then hurried upstairs and didnt' stop hurrying until she was safe under the jets of hot water.
