Angela sighed as she sat at the kitchen counter at Isaac's house. He was preparing dinner for the two of them that evening. Angela glanced at the clock that hung on the wall over the window. It read five o clock. Angela could stay there until around seven, and then her parents would start to wonder.
That reminded her of something else. Isaac still hadn't agreed on a time for them to go together and break the news of their engagement to her parents. He kept saying that he wanted to wait, and she was getting antsy, as was Alan.
"Isaac?" She asked.
"Hmmmm?" He asked, looking up from the sauce he was stirring.
"When are we going to tell my parents about us?"
Isaac sighed and set down his spoon. "I dont know honey. Soon." he said.
Angela sighed and looked down at her hands. "Well, I wanted to do it before Christmas." She said.
"Soon." He replied.
Angela took a deep breath. If this was how things were going to be, she would have to resort to other methods to get him to see her point.
"NO!" She yelled, pushing the chair back. Isaac looked up, shocked that his soft spoken fiance had just yelled at him.
"Soon is NOT soon enough!" She yelled. Issac could see the anger in her face as she yelled at him.
"I want to tell my parents now, and I want you to do it with me!"
"Honey-"
"It's like you dont' want to tell them about us!"
"Angela, that's not what I-"
"Isaac, I've waited for months for you. I 'm tired of sneaking around like this. I hate it. You keep saying you'll tell them with me but you never have! I'm getting sick of waiting, and I hate sneaking around all the time! I want to tell them now!" She yelled.
Isaac could only gape at her.
"When you decide that you're man enough to help me, that's when I'll talk to you. Until then, soon isn't enough." She said. With that, she grabbed her coat and purse, and Isaac heard the front door slam a few moments later.
