There, on the front cover of the Tulsa World Daily newspaper, was Nadine and Taylor, dancing and kissing in the middle of the dancfloor.
Nadine grabbed the paper, then slammed the door. "Oh my god." She said quietly.
"What?" Taylor asked, walking quickly over to her.
"This." She said.
Taylor read some of the article, which described how he and this 'mystery woman' got drunk and then got into his limo together, where they both went back to a hotel. Taylor slowly looked over at Nadine, then looked at the floor, speechless.
"I can't believe this is happening." She said, throwing the paper down on a table. She grabbed the rest of her clothes and her purse, then put on her shoes.
"Nadine, we need to talk abou this." he said.
"No, no Taylor, we don't." She said, straigtening her shirt. "We do not need to talk about anything." She said calmly. "I never want to ever see you again." She said, walking over to the door.
"Nadine, wait-" He started. She opened it.
"You have made me so miserable. Thanks to you, I might have to quit the only job I have been able to keep in years. I've never been so embarassed in my entire life." She said.
"I'm sorry." he said.
"That's all you can say?" She asked. "No, I don't think so." She said, starting out the door.
"Nadine, I really liked you." He said, grabbing her arm.
"Well excuse me." She said, giving him the scariest look anyone had ever given him. "It's just all about you Taylor. If you're having a good time, then to hell with everyone else." She said, yanking her arm away.
Taylor stared at her, not knowing what to say.
"I never want to see you again." She said, then slammed the door behind her.
Taylor knew that he had really screwed up this time. Nadine was right. He had to change.
