"So you're....Him?" Wendy asked, pointing to the picture of Isaac and his brothers on the cover of Entertainment weekly.
Isaac nodded. "yes."
"Oh my...." She said, her breath catching in her throat.
Wendy had just seen the magazine in the grocery store, and she had called Isaac over, and he had found her sitting on the couch, staring at the magazine.
"I can't belive this." She said.
"What?" He asked.
"This! This!" She said, waving the magazine in front of her face.
"Oh, well, how could you not know?"
"I...I...I don't know." She said.
"Wasn't it kind of hard not to?" He asked.
"Well, I didn't get out much back home, and besides, it was such a small town." She said, shifting uncomfortably.
"Well you know now." he said with a smile.
"Yes, yes I do." SHe said, setting it down. "So you're...famous."
"Yeah." He said. "yeah, i guess you could say that."
"Gosh, I feel so silly." She said.
"No, no, don't." He said.
"I don't know what to say." She said, smiling down at her hands.
"No, don't treat me any differently." Isaac said. "Just treat me normal." He said.
"Ok." She said.
"Oh hi Mousy." he said as the kitten jumped up on his lap.
"He missed you yesterday when you didn't come over." Wendy said, patting the kitten on the head.
"Oh, well I was hung up in the studio." Isaac said.
"Oh."
Isaac just sat there a moment, petting the cat. Suddenly, he got an idea.
"Wendy, what are you doing tonight?" he asked her.
"Um, nothing much. Why?" SHe asked.
"Would you like to have dinner with my family?" He asked.
"Your family? Oh Isaac, I don't know." She said.
"It's just a casual dinner, nothing big. They havent' met you yet." He said.
"True." She said.
"Now I can show them why i spend so much time over here." He said, smiling at her.
Wendy blushed and looked at her hands. "I suppose I could have dinner with you." She said.
"Great." he said.
"I'll come over around six and pick you up." He said.
"Ok." She said.
"You'll be fine, they just want to meet you." He said.
"Yeah."
"My mom wonders why I'm over here so much." he said.
"Well you are here a lot. Not that I mind, i love your company." She said.
"Thank you." He said. "They all just really want to meet you." He said.
"Well I'll be ready at six." She said.
"Ok." Well it's nearly five, I'd better go."
Isaac said, placing the kitten on the couch next to him and standing up.
"Alright, I'll see you at six." She said.
"I'll be here." He said.
As promised, Isaac walked across the street promptly at six o clock. He felt his stomach flop when he saw her. Her shoulder length blonde hair was pulled halfway back, and she wore a white dress that was to her knees with little blue and red flowers all over it.
"Wow." He said. "You look beautiful." He said.
"Thank you, Isaac." She said. She smiled, then turned to close her door.
They walked across the street and to the Hanson's house. He opened the door, and they walked in. They were immediately greeted by Isaac's sister, Zoe.
"Hi!" She said, waving up at Wendy.
Wendy crouched down level with the little girl.
"Hi there." She said.
"I like the way you talk." Zoe said.
"Why thank you." Wendy said. "how old are you?" She asked.
"I'm six." Zoe said, holding up her fingers.
"Well you're a big girl then." Wendy said.
"You'll have to excuse her, she's not used to accents." Another blonde haired girl said.
"Oh." Wendy said.
"But it's cool." The girl added, picking up her sister.
"Thank you." She said.
"Hi Wendy!" Diana said, walking over to them.
"Hi Diana, haven't seen you in awhile." Wendy said, tucking some hair behind her ears.
"Well, I've been busy with Mackie's baseball, and taking the girls everywhere." Diana said. "The boys are keeping me busy too." She said, looking at Isaac.
"Oh, yes, I imagine they are." Wendy said.
"Well let's move into the dining room, we're almost ready with dinner. Jess, come help me set the table." Diana said, motioing her into the dining room.
Before they all sat down, Wendy met Taylor, Zac, Jessica, Mackie, and Walker.
"I hope I can remember all of your names." She said as they all sat down. "I'm not very good with all of them, and there's so many of you." She said with a smile.
"That's fine, dear, don't worry." Diana said.
They said thanks and began to eat. Wendy was amazed at how much this huge family ate and how much they all talked. Dinner went quicky and without a hitch, to her relief.
After dinner, Isaac sat with Wendy in the living room while they talked with Taylor, Diana and Walker.
"So Isaac told you about everthing." Diana said.
"Yeah, it was such a surprise, I didn't even realize...." Wendy trailed off.
"It is kind of exilherating, isn't it?" Diana said.
"I'm still kind of in shock." She said.
"Yes, that will wear off." Walker pipped up.
"I almost didn't believe him, but then I saw the magazine." She said.
"Oh, the ET one? That's a bad picture, Ike usually looks better." Diana said, patting her son on the knee.
"Mom." He said.
"What, you do." She said. "And then next week we all get to go to California for the Grammies, did he tell you about that?" Diana said.
"The Grammies? No, he didn't mention that." Wendy said, looking at Isaac.
