Katie looked over at Zac. He was staring at the TV, occasionally laughing at the sitcom. She sighed, scooting closer to him. Zac automatically put his arm around her and shifted closer to her. She was trying to get his attention. She really wanted to talk to him about college, but she didnt' know how to bring it up.

"Zac?"

"hmmm?"

"Can I talk to you for a second?"

"Sure." He said, his eyes still glued to the TV.

"What are you plans for the future?" She asked.

Zac slowly turned his head and gave her a quizzical look. "What have you been watching?"

"Nothing, I just...."

"Have you been watching that Oxygen women's channel thing again? Every time you watch that you get kinda weird-"

"Zac, I haven't been watching the woman channel. I just....I talked to Morgan last night."

Zac sighed and turned to face her. "Here we go." He muttered.

"Zac, this is serious." She said.

"Okay, Okay." He said.

"Taylor is really upset because Morgan wants to go to art school...in New York. And leave him."

"She should stay here." Zac said. "Taylor loves her."

"But New York is her dream. She's always wanted to go to art school there, Zac, ever since she was a little girl."

"Yeah, but she and Taylor have been together for so long. He thinks he want to spend the rest of his life with her."

"Yeah, but if he really loved her he would give her a little space to go for her dream." katie shot back.

Zac sighed, giving her a knowing look. "Is this REALLY about Morgan and Tay?"

Katie looked at her hands. "Well...sorta?"

"What are you worried about? Spill." Zac said.

"Well...we only have one more year of high school, then what? I mean, what if we want to go to colleges a million miles apart? I mean, I love you a lot, but what if we want to go to completely different schools?" Katie asked. "What are we going to do?"

Zac sighed. "First of all, you're overlooking the important part. We have a whole year to decide this. And......I love you. A lot. I'm willing to make some sacrifices for you. I don't know how drastic they have to be, but I'm willing to go pretty drastic." He said. "You dont' have to worry."

"But what if we can't survive a long distance relationship?"

"We don't know that it will have to be long distance." Zac pointed out.

"I know, but-"

"But nothing. Don't worry about it yet, Kate. We'll figure it out. We have plenty of time." Zac said, taking her hands and squeezing them.

"Okay." She said. Zac leaned over and kissed her softly. "Don't worry." He repeated. Katie smiled and leaned on his shoulder. He put his arm around her, and then leaned back on the couch.

"When the time comes to make that decision, we'll make it. You know you want to either be a writer or a teacher, and I don't know. Doesn't that leave me open to go to most schools?"

"Yeah." katie said.

Zac kissed her cheek. "Good. Then stop worrying. Cuz I know you. You'll worry and worry and worry. Don't. There's nothing to worry about yet."

"Okay." Katie said. If Zac said she shouldn't worry, then maybe he was right. Maybe she didn't have anything to worry about.
