Half an hour later, Katie looked over at Zac. He had moved up onto the couch while she took her turn playing a game, and now he was sprawled out on the couch, fast asleep, softly snoring. Katie smiled to herself, shutting off the game.

"Zac..." She said slowly. She reached down and shook him. "Zac...wake up....Zac...." She poked him in the stomach, where she knew he was very ticklish and he jumped awake with a snort.

"Hey!" he said, sitting up.

"You wouldn't wake up."

Zac rubbed his eyes and sniffed. "Judy home yet?"

"No, and it's still snowing." Katie said, looking out the sliding glass doors across the room.

"Let's go upstairs and see what everyone else is doing." He said. "Okay." She said, walking towards the steps. Zac followed her through the kitchen to the TV room, where Katie' siblings sat.

"What's up?"

"Nothing" "Not much" they answered.

"Is judy home yet?" Madison asked.

"Nope." Katie said. She walked over to a window and peeked out. The snow blew around the house, and all that could be seen was a white blur. She sighed and moved the curtain back into place. She wandered over to the corner of the room, where Zac sat sprawled in an armchair.

"I'm gonna go make some hot chocolate, want some?" She asked him.

"Sure." He said, jumping up quickly. Antyhing that had chocolate in it, Zac was bound to like. They walked to the kitchen, and Katie boiled a pot of water, guessing that her siblings were bound to want some too. Zac took out the mix, and Katie pulled out several mugs.

"I hope nothing bad happened." Katie said, glancing out the window.

"I do too." Zac said.

"I wonder why she hasn't called..." Katie said.

"Maybe she wasn't near a phone. Does she have a cell?"

"Yeah, but if she needed to use it, she couldnt' because she never leaves it on and the batteries are always dead."

As if on que, the phone rang. Katie raced to it and picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Katie?"

"Judy!" Katie exclaimed. "Where on earth are you? You were supposed to have been home three hours ago!" Katie said, seeing that it was now eight thirty.

"I know. My aunt didn't want me to leave until the storm passed. I made it to the Hanson's. I don't know if I can get back home tonight, the roads are so bad. Even thought it's only a few blocks, I could barely make it through, even with the suburban. I don't want to risk it."

"That's okay, we're fine. Tell Diana that Zac is still here."

"He is?"

"Yeah."

"That's good, tell him to stay." Katie heard Diana say in the backround.

"Okay." Katie said, grinning at Zac.

"What are they saying?"

She waved him off and continued speaking. "So you're not coming home tonight?"

"No. I'm betting you don't have school tomorrow, so don't even plan on going. They're already cancelling all over around here." Judy said. "But just in case, turn on channel 4 to see the closings here in a few minutes, they said they'd be running them."

"Yes!" Katie yelled, jumping up and down. "Okay." She said, flipping on the small TV that was in the kitchen.

"Calm down. Now I want you to make sure to fill some pots and pans with water and have the candles and flashlights out, and get out plenty of batteries. You know how the younger ones are about being in the dark." Judy said.

"Okay."

"Dont' do anything stupid. And hide my cigarettes from Sandra." Judy said.

"Okay."

"Be careful."

"We will."

"Alright, I'll be home tomorrow as soon as I can." Judy said.

"Okay."

"Bye."

"Bye." Katie said, hanging up the phone.

"Well what happened?" Zac asked.

"It's really bad out there, and Judy could only make it to your house." She said. "And she won't be back until tomorrow, and we are to get out the flashlights and other junk in case the power goes out, and we have to watch to see if our school is closed tomorrow." She said.

"Cool. So, I'm spending the night?" He asked hopefully voice.

"Yup." She said.

"Cool! We can have a slumber party!" He said in a girly voice.

Katie eyed him. "Yeah." She said slowly, shutting off the burner. "Get me the whip cream, will ya please?" She said as she carefully poured the boiling water into the cups.

Zac walked over to the refridgerator and started looking. Katie looked over a few minutes later and he was munching on some carrots while examining a jar of pickles.

"Zac!"

"What?" He asked, quikcly setting it back down.

"I told you to get the whip cream, not raid our fridge!" She said with a giggle. "You are such a goon." She said, stirring the drinks.

"I do it all the time." He said, pulling it out.

"I know." SHe said with a knowing smile.

Zac shook up the whip cream and sprayed some into his mouth.

"Zac, gross, come on." She said with a giggle, reaching for the can.

"What, you don't like whip cream?" He asked, spraying more in his mouth.

"Yes, I love it, just...give it here!" SHe said, stopping to laugh at him. She reached for it and he held it up in the air just enough to keep it away from her. She laughed, seeing that he still had an entire mouthful in his mouth.

"Zac...Give it here." She said. He leaned over and gave her the biggest open mouth kiss he had ever given her, all while giving her a good half of what was in his mouth. SHe pulled away coughing and sputtering whip cream.

"Oh gross!" She said, giggling.

Zac just smiled and sprayed more in his mouth before handing it over. She grabbed it and gave him a sheepish grin.

"Now watch, I'll get your cold." She said.

Zac laughed, reaching for the whip cream. "I don't think so." She said, holding it away from him. She grabbed a few mugs and took them out to her siblings, and came back again for more. When she was finished, she flipped on the TV to wait for school closings.

"I hope we don't have school on Tuesday either." She said.

"Yeah." Zac said, watching the screen intently. She knew he loved school, but he also liked to sit around and just be lazy too. She looked over to see Zac leaned against the counter, contently spraying whip cream on his fingers and then licking it off.

"I have the strangest boyfriend." Katie muttered.

"What was that?" He asked, voice squeaking.

Katie giggled. "YOu sound funny when your voices squeaks."

"Hey." Zac said, voice sqeaking again. Katie giggled, and he walked over to her and sprayed a glob of whip cream on her nose.

"Hey!" She said, grabbing the at the can. Zac leaned over and licked it off.

"Zac, you are such a queer!" She said between gigles.

"I know." He said.

"I can't believe you just licked me!"

"Well I did."

"You're strange."

"Yes, I seem to be that way this evening." He said.

"Katie?"

"Huh?"

"I had an accident."

THis got Katie's attention. She looked to see that Zac had sprayed a glob in his mouth.

"Would you get this off my tongue?" He asked through the glob.

Katie laughed and shook her head. "Hey." He said, reaching for her.

He wrapped his arms around her waist, and she looked at him for a moment. He leaned in and opened his mouth a little. She kissed him, then allowed her tongue inside his mouth long enough to rub it against his. She giggled at the taste of the whip cream. They pulled apart and smiled at each other. Katie turned to look at the TV.

"Oh, school closings." She said.

"Cool." He said, following her over to the counter to watch the TV.

"Yes!" She said, jumping up a few minutes later as their school flashed in front of the screen.

"Cool!" He said.

She raced into the TV room where her brother and sisters sat. "No school tomorrow!"

"Yay!" Her brother and sisters jumped up and were instantly rejuvinated by the good news. She walked back into the kitchen were Zac had flipped the TV over to the cartoon network.

"Zac?"

"Hm...?" He asked, not taking his eyes off the screen.

"Zaaaac?"

"What......"

"Zac!"

"Yeah.." She still couldn't get his attention away from Rocky and Bullwinkle. That was the only trouble with Zac. Addicted to cartoons.
