Katie opened the door to see Zac standing standing in the dark cold with his arms crossed and a frown on his face.

"Zac?"

"Hi." He said, walking in.

"What's up?" She asked, not knowing why he was there. It was nearly seven and dark out, and he was on her doorstep.

"My mom dropped me off here, because she went to run some errands, and I wanted to see you anyways."

"Why's that?" She asked, closing the door.

"I just have the worse experience of my life." He said. "What are you doing?"

"Just watching a Real World Marathon." She said, helping him take off his coat. "What happened to you that has made this the worst experience of you life?" She asked as he followed her over to the couch.

"I went to the doctor." He said, flopping down.

"And?"

"And it was very humiliating." He said.

"Oh. What happened?" She asked.

"My mom surprised me with a physical, and I have a woman doctor."

"So?"

Zac turned and gave Katie a look of disbelief. "So it's really really really really really humiliating when this sixysomething fat, old Hispanic lady grabs your balls and tells you to cough while youre sanding in a cold room on a cold floor, and the paper thing you're wearing is hanging open for the world do see your butt." Zac said, growing more embarassed by the moment.

"Ah." Katie said.

"I hated it." He said, giving her a pathetic look.

"I guess I would hate it too." She said.

"And I thought you would come here and pity me." He added, sulking.

Katie laughed. "Awww...I'm sorry." She said, grabbing his arm. She pulled him over to her and gave him a hug.

"Much better." He mumbled.

"Aw Zac, it's okay." She said, giggling. She rubbed her hands in circles on his back, and she laughed when Zac started to lay down, his head in her lap. He settled himself, and was laying all the way down, and was sprawled out on the couch, his head resting on her lap.

"You comfy?" She asked in a baby voice.

"MmmHmm..." He said, smiling up at her.

"You're such a ham."

"No, I'm a turkey!" He playfully argued.

"Uh huh." She said. "Oh! Shhhh! The Real World is back."

"Okay." Zac turned his head slightly towards the TV so he could watch. Katie sat on the couch with him, absendmindedly touching his head. She grew bored with the real world, and began touching his hair. She stroked the soft locks, and tucked a few strands behind his ears. She loved Zac's hair, and she absolutely forbid him to cut it. He was to his shoulders, and around his head it was getting darker, but the ends were still bright blonde. His hair was always very clean and silky, and nice to play with.

Zac let out a moan, and turned to look at her.

"That feels good."

"Does it?"

"Yeah." he mumbled. He turned from his side to his back, and looked up at her. He smiled sleepily, looking intently at his girlfriend. He had a beautiful girlfriend whom he adored, and he was laying on her couch getting his head stroked on her lap. He was warm, relaxed, and happy. Maybe the day hadn't been that bad afterall.

"Dude, i gotta get going." Zac said, tossing the video game controller down.

"Why?" His friend James asked.

"Because I promised Katie I would help her with her geometry, and I only have a bike today, and I don't want to go over there in the dark." Zac said.

"Dude, you are so whipped." James said with a laugh, switching the game off.

Zac frowned. "I am not."

James laughed. "Zac, she's says jump, you say how high."

"I do not." Zac said indignantly.

James gave him a Look, and Zac knew it was true. Katie was his number one priority besides his mother. But to tell one the truth, he didn't really mind it that way.

"Why does it matter?" Zac asked.

"It does."

"I don't think so." Zac said, back on the couch.

"Man, she's got you wrapped around her little finger and you don't even know it. She must be good."

"Good?"

James shrugged. "Yeah, good."

"Oh." Zac said, still not sure what he meant.

James gave him a sidways glance. "You mean you've been with her how long and you haven't bagged her?" He asked in disbelief.

Zac just stared at him. "Bagged her?" He asked quietly.

"Well...yeah."

Zac frowned. "No, I haven't 'bagged' her." He said.

"You haven't?"

"No." Zac said. "Why?" He asked, his interest still drawn in.

"Well...I always thought you guys were." James said awkwardly.

"Why?"

"I don't know, you've been together awhile, and I figure she must be doing something right."

"Oh."

"I figured she must be a hell of a lay." James said, flipping off the TV.

"Shut up james." He said. Ever since James had turned sixteen a few weeks ago, he now talked in strange, older terms that Zac found very obnoxious.

"You're just pissed cuz you're not getting any." James said with a laugh.

"And what? You are? Yeah, I can see it now, James the Pimp." Zac defended himself.

"I do too!" James said.

"Oh yeah? When?" Zac challenged.

"My cousin's friend." he said.

"You mean your cousin." Zac joked.

"Dude..." James warned.

"Sorry, sorry." Zac said with a laugh.

"So you're really not?"

"Nope." Zac said.

"You're goin out a limb there, dude."

"Whatever. I gotta get going." Zac said, standing up. He put on his coat and walked to the door.

"See ya."

"Yeah whatever, ya fake pimp." Zac shot back. With that, he stepped outside and grabbed his bike that was leaning against the front porch.

On his way to Katie's, he contemplated what they had been talking about. He knew James was only joking, but it still made Zac mad.

Did he want to have sex? Did Katie want to have sex? Was he ready for sex? Were they ready for sex? Was she ready for sex? Zac shook his head as he peddled down the sidewalk. No way was Katie ready. She was incredibly squeamish about the topic, and was practically a nun compared to a few other girls Zac knew. He wasn't sure what to do, but he had a feeling that someone would...

He pulled up, still very confused and flustered. His face lit up, however, when katie came to the door and smiled at him. He walked into the warm house and gave her a hug, picking her up off the ground slightly.

"Zac! Gosh, you're happy to see me." She said.

"yeah." He said, looking into her eyes.

She looked at him intently. "Something wrong?"

Zac looked at his girlfriend a few more moments, looking at her innocent face. No, she wasnt' ready. He wasn't ready. They weren't ready. He smiled.

"Nope. Everything's cool. Let's get started."

"Ooooh..." Katie groaned.

Zac threw his coat on a chair near the door and followed her up to her room.

"The sooner we get done, the sooner we can do something else." He said, stopping at her door to give her a sweet peck on the cheek.

"Oh boy." She joked, opening her door.

Zac smiled and walked over to her desk, where they usually did homework. She smiled at him, and his heart skipped a beat. No, this was just fine.
