Michelle was walking home on the next Thursday evening, wondering what the hell was going on between Chris and Taylor. It was really mind boggling. It was also driving her nuts. She seriously couldn't figure it out.
He had called on Tuesday, and Chris had refused to tell her what had been said. She claimed that he had just called to 'talk', but Michelle knew better. There was something going on, and whatever it was, Michelle was going to find out.
Secondly, Michelle was wondering if she was ever going to make any friends. Sure, she talked to Chris a lot, but that was at home, and she also talked to some nice people in her classes, but none she had ever really gotten to know.
At the same time, Christina was walking home just a few blocks away. She was also wondering about her 'relationship' with Taylor. He had called earlier that week, and asked if she wanted to get together that weekend and study for their English test next week. She had said yes and she would call him later for more details, because she didn't know what Michelle had in store for her that weekend, so she had not set a date
He also started sitting near her in their class that they had together, and she had to admit that she really enjoyed it. When the teacher turned his back, he would tell her jokes and explain anything she didn't get, and vice versa.
She suddenly felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and saw two girls she knew were juniors from one of her music classes. One was a really tall brunette and the other was a medium blond.
She stopped and said "Hi"
"Hi" the girls said together. "We noticed that you and your friend are interested in music and we were wondering if you two would be interested in rushing in our sorority."
"Well, I think we would be interested. Uh, what kind of stuff do we have to do to rush?
"Oh, nothing bad, like drugs, we're not about that." The brunette spoke up.
"Yeah, we like to have parties and play live music and stuff, and have some fun and just chill. We just like to have a little fun."
"Will we have to drink?" Christina asked, now very interested.
"No, at least we haven't. Usually only the guys do, if anyone." The blond spoke.
"So any way, we are having a little party for all the people the two groups are interested in, and we wanted to know if you guys would like to join us?"
"Um, sure, I mean why not? Maybe I'll meet some new friends!"
"Yeah, we hope so. Any way, it's at Emily's house this Friday, and I think it's just down the street from you two, so be there at ten if you guys want to hang out, and it usually goes until about three, so you can leave whenever."
"Ok, thanks."
"Hope to see you there!"
"Bye!"

Michelle was walking home, and contemplating what to do to get either Chris or Taylor to spill the beans. She had decided on Taylor when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see two tall, thin, blond girls that were seniors standing behind her.
"Hi" she said, a little unsure of the situation.
"Hello" They said.
One of them finally said after an awkward silence " We want to know if you would be interested in rushing our sorority?"
"We're having a huge party on Friday, so you can come."
"It's at my house, and I live at 314 Lowpoint road, and it starts at eleven, and ends-"
"Who knows when!?!?" They said together.
"Hope you can make it!"
"Bye!"
Michelle said to her self, 'what just happened?' and kept on walking. The party sounded like fun, though. Maybe she could convince Chris to go too. That would be worth a laugh or two. When they used to go to parties when they were 13 or 14, Chris would always refuse to play 'spin the bottle' or 'seven minutes in heaven' or as Chris had always put it 'seven hours in hell.' She laughed as she remembered some of the things they used to do. She let out a sigh. She had to get some sparks flying between the two, but how?
When she got home, she saw Chris on the couch, reading in her history book.
"Hey Chris! Guess what?"
"Uh, what?"
"We got invited to a college party, and we got asked to rush! Is that not so cool?
We have to go!"
"When is it?"
"This Friday."
"Well, I also got invited to a party on Friday, and so did you. They seem really nice, and I want to rush."
"You're kidding! Little Christina, the baby who wouldn't kiss a boy, the one who never gets C's, the little girl who won't make a move on a perfect guy, even if your fairy godmother kicked her? Oh my lord, folks, she grew up over night!" Michelle yelled.
"Yeah, I guess I did!" said Christina, leaning back with a smile.
"Well, don't you want to go to my party?"
"No, not really. These girls seemed pretty nice. They all date a faternity together. It sounds like fun. I'm not saying I will date, but I think I would like to try and get in. They want you to come too."
"They do?"
"Yeah"
"Hmm….."
"What?" Christina asked with a worried voice.
"Do you think we could go to both? What time does yours start?"
"eleven and goes to three or so."
"Oh"
" We could split times. Like three hours each." Christina said.
"That might work."
"I'll think about it. We have till Friday." With that, she picked her history book back up, and started reading.
