He closed his eyes and leaned his head against his seat with a sigh. He strangely felt good, sad yes, but good. All these years, he had live to be with her, to see her again. He had seen her again, but right from the moment he had, nothing was the same. She had somehow moved on, and it was ok, he guessed. Nothing ever goes as you expect it to, and it's the beauty of live, as well as the bitterness of it.
He openned his eyes and looked at the people around him. There was an old couple beside him. They were holding each other's hands and smiling at one another. And he couldn't help but smile. He had always envisioned him and Marron growing old with one another, still in love like this couple.
Lying in my bed
I hear the clock ticking'
And think of you
Turning in circles
Confusion is nothing new
Flashback, to warm nights
Almost left behind
Suitcase of memories
Time after
Sometimes you'll picture me
I'm walking too far ahead
You're calling to me
I can't hear what you have said
And you say, go slow
I fall behind
The second hand unwinds

"So, what are you gonna do today?" Sean said, looking at her over his paper.
"I'm gonna get back on my writting."
"Ok...Marron..."
"Yeah?", she asked, looking at him
"We need to talk"
"I know"
"I went to see Trunks last night..."
"I know. He told me."
"And he said that all you said was true...but still...Marron, how..."
"Don't try to understand. I was born in this world, and sometimes, even I find it hard to believe it was true."
"Why didn't you tell me any of this before."
"Cause we always kept it secret."
"Yeah...right. Secret's your specialty anyway."
Marron stood up and went to empty her now cold coffee in the sink. She then turned to him and said.
"I know that what happened before I met you doesn't excuse what Trunks and I did."
"You're damn right, it doesn't"
"And I'm not asking you to understand"
"That's fine, cause I don't"
"But I want you to know that I love you, and that I'll never let go on us"
"You know Marron, I just find it hard to believe..."
He stood up and turned to her, looking at her in the eyes.
" I don't trust you, not anymore." he said, as her eyes filled with tears. He then turned away and walked out of the kitchen, then out of the house.
She sat on the chair, her face numb. She had known it wouldn't be easy, but it was even harder than she ever imagined. His trust in her had crumbled and she understood perfectly why, but still...she couldn't help but feeling crushed by what he had just said.
She closed her eyes and pinched her lips together as she heard the car engine start, and then she turned to the window to see the car pulling down the driveway. She loved him so much.
If you're lost, you can look
And you will find me

If you fall, I will catch you
I'll be waiting

Sean walked in, not even gesturing a "hello" sign to his secretary. He went straight to his office and closed the door behind him, pretending not to hear what Janice was telling him. Something about a client that had been calling non-stop since the morning. He sat at his desk and turned on his seat to face the large bay window. He felt betrayed and frustrated and sad...and at the same time, he only wanted to be there for his wife. It was hard to see her so down, so unusually sad, and yet wanting to make her suffer for making him ached so much. He would have loved to simply hate her and get a divorce, but he loved her so much, sometimes it was hard to breathe. He could hardly believe that the Marron he had married and still adored had done something so horrible to him.
He heard knocks on the door and he said to his secretary that he didn't want to be disturbed, and he got back to his thoughts. Ever since he had met her, he had known she was special. She was so beautiful, so charming. She had this mystery in her eyes, something that made him want to hold her and protect her. Now he knew what that was, and to be frank, he still couldn't believe it. That sadness in her blue eyes, that scared feeling around her. He had loved her right from the start, even with her sadness, even when she was distant. And she had changed, she had started to smile more often, to laugh even. When he had asked her to marry him, he knew it was the right thing, because he wanted to be with her forever, but now, he wasn't so sure anymore. This bitter taste in his mouth, this aching inside his chest when he looked at her. All of this was wrong, everything was so wrong.
The knocks on the door become more insistant and he turned around, ready to yell at Janice.
"Janice, what have...", but he stopped, finding Marron standing in the doorframe. She was wearing a pair of low waist jeans and a red shirt, her curls up in a loose bun. She was so beautiful.
"What are you doing here?"
"We didn't really talk this morning. We need to. I knew you wouldn't be able to work with that on your mind."
"Well, at least one of us knows the other well."
"Will you just shut up one minute.", she said, closing the door.
He was blown away by this sudden determination of hers. He didn't say anything, waiting for her to come and sit in front of him, which she did.
"I'm gonna tell you the whole story, not just fragments, and then you'll hate me, maybe more, maybe less, but you'll know, alright?"
He nodded then they looked at each other in silence for a moment.
"I was born from two warriors. My father was quite small and my mother was a once destructive robot created from a human body and hydrolics. I was raised, but I didn't want to become a warrior, like the both of them. Trunks is the son of the Saïya-jin prince, Vegeta, and a human, Bulma. The first Saïya-jin to come to Earth was Goku. He was sent here as a baby to destroy this planet, but he didn't do it and then he met Bulma, and they started this quest for the DragonBalls. They are used to summon a dragon that will answer to wishes, once a year. Goku met my father when they trained with Master Roshi, but Goku was way stronger then my father. He married a human, Chichi, and they had two sons, Gohan and Goten. Gohan married Satan's daughter, Videl, and they had a daughter, Pan. Goten was engaged to Bra, Trunks' sister, when they died. They were all warriors, except Bulma and Bra. Bra was hiding in another building when the last war happened, as I was, but the building collapsed and she was killed. I was luckier. Trunks and I were always good friends, and we fell in love, at some point. We were madly in love, in fact, and we decided to get married. The day before our wedding, we got a call from Bulma, and we went straight to Capsule Corp., the Brief's compagny. There, we were told that an alien race, that the Saïya-jins always feared, had learned that there were some left on Earth and were coming to destroy them. When they came, I was told to hide and when I got out, there was an ocean of corpses awaiting me. They were all dead, except my mother, and well, as now I know but then didn't, Trunks. I never felt worse in my whole life. I just wanted to die, to make that incredible pain go away. It was tearing me apart. A while later, I learned that I was pregnant, but I didn't tell anyone. I lost the baby on the day of the funeral, and that night..."
She looked down at her wrists and then back at him.
"I tried to kill myself. My mother found me before it was too late, but it was so hard, afterwise, to get my life back on tracks...I just couldn't...I met you on the anniversary of their death. At first I was distant, because of how you made me feel...I had swore to myself that I would never love anyone ever again...ever. And I fell in love with you. And I was happy, and I felt good. But then he came back. The aliens had took him to experiment this new race of warrior, semi-human, semi-saïya-gin, and he escaped. When he came back, he found the appartment empty and everything gone. And when he found me, I was pregnant with Alysson, and married to you. He took a while before he could ever come to me. He was in the same situation you're in. The one you love, with another. He came back when I was still grieving my mother, I still am, and he brought up some terrible memories, everything I'd work so hard to hide. When we...When I...I was crying, and I needed someone, and I needed him to feel the hole his death had left in me...This doesn't excuse anything, nothing will excuse that, but I need you to know that I never wanted to hurt you, because I love you, and I need you."
She was crying now, and he was too, but he didn't say anything, just looking at her in silence.
After your picture fades
And darkness has turned to gray
Watching through windows
I'm wondering if you're okay
And you say, go slow
I fall behind
The drum beats out of time

"Okay"
"Okay what?", she asked, standing up too
"I believe you"
She sighed, then nodded slowly.
"Well, at least, you don't think your wife's crazy anymore."
"I never said..."
"I know, but it's what you thought, right?"
"I..."
"I need to go now, I have to work on my book."
"Ok"
"Please, pick Alysson up from the daycare when you get back, ok?"
"I will"
"Ok"
"Ok"
They looked at one another for a moment, then she turned away and left, closing the door behind her. He looked at the door for a moment, then turned away and stared outside, lost in his thoughts once again. Inside of him, he wanted to believe her, to say he was sorry, that he understood...but he couldn't, it still hurt too much. As a matter of fact it probably always would.
She slowed down as she approached the first grave, Goku's. She stopped, looking at the cold, gray rock with his name, his years, a pale presence compared to what he was, compared to what they all were.

She passed the graves, her eyes filled with tears as usual. She stopped at the last one and looked down at the now brown red roses she had left there the last time she had come.
"Mom...", she said, her voice weak, getting down on her knees.
"I'm sorry I didn't come more often.", she said, putting fresh roses and throwing the others aways.
"You know, a lot has happened since you...went away..."
She smiled at the ground, then looked up at the sky.
"Trunks...he's alive...I still can't believe it, but he is. He came back just after you died...And since then, everything's been a big blur. I did some terrible mistakes Mom, and now everything seems so wrong. I slept with him, I didn't intend to, but I did, and I told him to leave when he asked if he should, and now he's gone, and Sean hates me, and...I hate myself."
She stood up, looking around and then looking back at the grave.
"I miss you so much Mom...you're the only one I could rely to, you're the only one that knew everything."
She close her eyes, turning away from the grave.
"I'm so lost Mom, so lost."
