Gantt Chart
There are a variety of features and capabilities
available to you when producing a Gantt chart in graphics mode. For
example, you can draw a logic Gantt chart that displays the precedence
relationships by drawing directed arcs between related activities. You can
also produce a labeled Gantt chart using the labeling mechanism, which
allows you to label a Gantt chart with a minimum of effort and data entry.
A zoned Gantt chart separates the activities of the project into different
zones based on the values of a specified zone variable. The annotate
facility enables you to add resource histograms, cost curves, and so forth
to the Gantt chart. You can also produce Gantt charts for multiprocess
projects by displaying the different process schedules for each activity
on the same row. Each of the individual processes can be color coded and
labeled.
The actual versus planned Gantt
chart enables you to track the progress of your project against the
original planned schedule. You can draw a resource-constrained schedule
that can include multiple segments for each activity due to splitting of
activities. In addition, you can display a baseline schedule on a Gantt
chart and compare the current schedule with it.
You can generate a Gantt chart
for displaying multiproject schedules by highlighting the summary bars,
displaying WBS codes, and indicating the hierarchy using indentation or by
indicating the project hierarchy level.
My project’s
forward scheduling by Gantt charts are illustrated below.
