(Anonymous) Original Poetry

This particular one was written the day of the destruction of the World Trade Center, and to be serious here, it was my way of dealing with my depression.

Ironically, it's called "ANONYMOUS":

All I need to know I learned from the news
Rapes and murders and commercials for booze
My friend thinks we live in a pretty pink world
Her views have changed as today's events unfurled
I pray to God there'll be no more
Victims of this awful and undeclared war
Yesterday all I could think about
Was fighting sickness Homecoming doubt
Today my mind is tragically set
On the deaths of thousands I never met
And the destruction of places I've never been to
Now what are we supposed to do?
Tomorrow our lives will continue on
And bury those who are truly gone
But their memories will live on in our hearts
As just cause for our vengeful darts
Thrown at the ones who made millions cry
Hoping that they would hit the bulls-eye
All this because of some powerful guy
Who organized dozens to make thousands die
"We shall retaliate and make them pay!"
Our leaders cry, seeing no other way
Feuled by our childrens' tears, we pray
While given the same fuel their children play
And all this I watch with sorrow on the news
Knowing that no matter who wins, the anonymous lose.
