| How many times have you tried to figure out the right gear ratio in you head while taking into account where you want to go and the change in tire size? Not very easy in your head. That lead to my first piece of software, Gear Selector. It doesn't really pick out the gear for you, but it does do any variation in calculating which gear, driver, top speed, peak rpm or tire circumference that you can think of. This software will enable you to get the math right and allow you to easily do what if calculations which should help you learn what differences should appear for a given change.

Inputs / Outputs
- Top speed in either miles per hour or kilometers per hour
- Peak engine rpm
- Tire cicumference in either inches or millimeters
- Teeth on driver
- Teeth on driven
|
Features
- Rollout (linear forward travel for one engine rotation) currently Ouput only.
- The program will calculate the missing value when 4 of the 5 inputs are entered. Any combination of the above 5 is allowed.
- Provides a gear ratio table centered on the entered driver and driven data. Avoids brain fade.
- Provides a table of engine rpm versus kart speed versus driven teeth. This is a great aid in gearing considerations.
