  forests feeding on fruits, seeds and

  The banded rail is a bird of the marshes and
   wetlands endemic to New Zealand.  A
   strong flier, it prefers to stay on the

   Australasian Harrier

   The Australasian harrier is widely distributed in
   Australia and New Zealand. A bird of the open
   country, it feeds on insects, reptiles, rodents

   Silvereye

   Self introduced to
   New Zealand from Austrlaia,
   this small endearing bird is
   common throughout the
