Of This Issue

Eight was chosen as the number of poems in this first issue of Outside In, because 8 is the number of strength, so it is a mantra, a wish of strength and strong beginnings for Outside In.

The introduction poem:

-------------------------

Realty Reality (an introduction)

I sit back and watch

          Misinformation become truth

Lies to cover lies to cover lies to

Cover lies to cover lies to cover

          Lies to cover

          Lies made up based on

          Nothing in the first place.

The truth of the matter is

Short sleeves are friendly to hot weather, but expose flesh to the cold

          Fact lies in the unknowable

          Beaten, flattened, and rolled

Destroy the order! I hate the order!

It's a part of the property,

               You can't take it back.

Do you see a pattern here?

No one conceived rhyme in this world:

                                     There is no lack.

                             Don't look back

                                              Collapsing paradise

                                Rotting from the outside in

                                         Devouring itself

Back.

It all comes with the territory

101 repulse reprove refine reflect

reread, reflect, rework, refine

This is the path to nowhere

           It's an arduous journey

Take my hand, avoid the path to nowhere

Let's go somewhere

Hand in hand

Spiritus Fugit

I cannot stop I know that giving up

gives awful space and

that I'll see me naked there all

rudely lit and hear the gibbering of my

mind and wheels that churn and cannot

turn them anywhere but where they will

not stop to follow.

Who are we without function? No earthen pot of form

are we our insides writhe and sift and seethe

we bite our bit so we can ride but dare not stop

as though we fear our withered selves might

motion to us, don't pass by, just stay awhile and

let me stretch and touch your eyes;

Form is form and clay is clay

Man was made to mount his grave

But that he cannot ride.

Salsicum Per Omnium

Come on, come on

Hot dogs for everyone

Said the dog but he

Was just makin' barbecue

That's some tasty lemonade

Clairvoyance

Who are you over there?

In your hour glass stare

Noticing me questionably

Am I not your brother?

For as far as I can see

You are my mirror image...

Cut form the same piece of universal cloth

And although our unconscious minds are seperated

Inside we are all just another piece of the celestial divinity

God's little pieces of scattered debris

Spilled across this land of diversity

And while I sleep upside down

There is someone standing right side up

Awake and aware of my passage.

On the floor I thought you knew it all

But my ceiling doesn't lie.

And while I open my airway one more time

The illusion disappears...
