Short history under construction.
Here's an absurdly long history for her:
Blackarachnia first showed up in the first season of
Beast Wars. Though she was originally a Maximal protoform,
Tarantulas reprogrammed her to be a Predacon and provided
the Black Widow Spider that was scanned to generate her
beast mode. Tarantulas intended for her to be his
mate -- to his dismay, she never fell for it, though she
did use it as an advantage to let her in on his plans,
and discovered that Tarantulas's plans were to leave
the "doomed" planet. After Tarantulas was put into stasis
lock (courtesy of Inferno), she accessed his data
tracks in desperation to get the plans to complete
the escape ship.
Unfortunately, Tarantulas had a suprise waiting for
her. His spark was somehow implanted into her in the
process, giving him partial control of her body. To
quote Tarantulas, "I'm here, inside your pretty little head,
controlling your pretty little thoughts." Needless to say,
Blackarachnia HATED this, especially since after Tarantulas
was restored (AND Transmetalized in the process), there
was still a psychic link between them. It is to be believed
that it was Tarantulas who magna-sealed the pod hatch
that killed Optimus Primal the first time. It was also
in that episode that it was revealed that (before Tarantulas
was restored) Tarantulas had control over her body any
time he wanted. To quote, "Too late. Goodbye, Optimus Primal!" which
adds to the suspicion that Tarantulas had Magna-sealed it, not Blackarachnia.
Blackarachnia forced Tarantulas to break the mental hold by
threatening BOTH their lives with an Energon
explosion. Triumphantly, she said something along the
lines of, "I told you.....one way or another..." It was
in that very same episode that she met Silverbolt for
the first time. Silverbolt was told by TM Rattrap to deal
with her, but Silverbolt didn't attack, saying that
(and I quote) "It is not right to strike a female.
Even a female Predacon." to which Blackarachnia
just smiled.
But that's not really an introduction, is it? No!
They REALLY meet in "Bad Spark", during which Protoform X
(AKA Rampage) is introduced, and they get stranded and
must journey above a local Energon storm to contact their
bases. Wait, I'm getting ahead of myself! They met up
towards the beginning of the episode, at the site where
Rampage's stasis pod had crashed. Megatron had sent Blackarachnia
and Waspinator to retrieve the pod. Moments after
Blackarachnia arrived at the pod, she began beating up
Silverbolt. He refused to fight back, and she yelled,
"C'mon, fight back! How far will you carry this silly
chivalry?!? 'Cause this Dark Damsel is NOT impressed!" Tarantulas
showed up, grabbing her and using her as a shield.
Silverbolt socked Tarantulas away, throwing him into
the Stasis Pod, causing it to explode, sending Blackarachnia
and Silverbolt WAY away, landing next to each other.
At first, they had pulled guns on each other, but
when Silverbolt mentioned that Tarantulas might come
after her again, she glanced about nervously and
decided to keep the Maximal around, just in case.
Even after they discovered Tarantulas's debodied arm
(a sure sign that Tarantulas was at least in Stasis Lock),
she saved Silverbolt's life from a fall that would've
surely killed him (his wing mechanism was damaged).
Silverbolt repaid the debt later when he flew down
and saved her, fixing his wing mechanism in the
process. She responded, "Not too...shabby. But don't
expect any gushing gratitude." Just before she swung
off, she allowed a truely grateful look at Silverbolt.
But their relationship was truely revealed in The
Agenda, pt 1, when it was revealed that they were
meeting each other secretly. Silverbolt wanted her to
return to Cybertron and become a Maximal again, but
she refused, saying that she was evil. Later, using a
driver Silverbolt had given her during the secret
meeting, she flew after Waspinator to find the Ark,
but not before winking at Silverbolt as he was ordered
to shoot her (see Silverbolt's bio for info on that).
Silverbolt pursued her, and a confrontation occured, ending with them kissing (off camera, of course). Since Blackarachnia was distracted (teehee...), she ended up crashing into Waspinator. Silverbolt saved her from the would-be------
