Blood Ties

Chapter 5

Brian woke up with Kevin’s arms around him. He smiled, turning to face him. He was so beautiful. No matter what man he was dating, he always came back to Kevin. And Kevin did the same. It never ceased to amaze him.

“Kev. Kev.” Brian shook him. They had to get up. They had class. “KEV” That woke him up. “What!” Kevin sat up, the sheet around his waist. “We have to get up.” Brian chuckled, seeing his cousin glare at him.

To say he wasn't a morning person was putting it mildly. Brian just laughed. He threw a pillow at Kevin and Kevin through it back. Soon they were both laughing. “Okay, now we really have to get up.”

Soon they were up and showered, ready to go. “Why don't you meet me by the big tree in front after my 1oclock class. I have a few friends I would like you to meet.” Brian nodded. He always liked his cousin’s friends.

One quick kiss, and they parted ways. Brian was glad the class was over. Algebra was not one of his favorite classes, but he had to do it. He walked across the lawn, seeing Kevin and a tall blond man already there.

“Hey Brian!” Kevin pulled his cousin into a big hug. “I want you to meet Nick.” Brian took a look at him. He was young, blue eyes, tattoos. But He liked him instantly. He was like your younger brother or something.

“Here they come.” Nick said, shading his eyes against the sun. “Hey bone, D.” He said, giving the one he called “Bone” a hug and a kiss. So that is the way the wind blew. “Hi, I am Alex,” He said giving Brian the once over, then a friendly smile.

“I am Brian. Kevin’s cousin.” He nodded, then his friend next to him spoke up. “Hi, I am Howie.” Brian smiled at him. “Well I think you know who I am by now.” They all laughed. He could feel something click. They clicked, all of them right at the beginning.

They sat down on the grass and ate, talking, getting to know eachother. Aj and Nick were together, and Howie had a girlfriend back home. It was funny. Howie was the straight one in the group, the rest of them were gay. And he was completely comfortable with that.

He was an amazing friend. He was the first one they mentioned their “arrangement” to, when Brian and Kevin decided to get serious. But not then. Then, they didn't even know it themselves After all, they were just getting reacquainted, and Brian was getting used to school.

After lunch they parted ways again, and Brian told his cousin he would meet him back at the dorm. Kevin nodded, heading off to his other class. He was glad that Brian and his friends had hit it off. He had a feeling that this was going to be a good year.

It was his early evening, so he was back in the dorm by 5. “I had forgotten how school was like” he grumbled, letting himself in. It was still dark inside, so he figured Brian wasn't back yet. But he peaked in Brian’s room anyway, and found Brian passed out on the bed.

He laughed, and headed for the shower, washing the long day off of him. He slid into a pair of boxers and a wifebeater and towel dried his hair. He passed Brian’s room as quietly as possible, letting his cousin sleep.

Brian woke up to the smell of food. His stomach rumbled. He padded into the living area, in the boxers and tee shirt he fell asleep in. “That smells good.” Kevin turned around, catching Brian watching his ass. He grinned.

“Good. I thought I would make us dinner.” Brian smiled back, coming around the corner to pull his cousin into a deep kiss. Kevin moaned, pushing his cousin against the counter. Brian’s hands tangled in Kevin’s long hair.

Then they heard hissing and they pulled apart, laughing. “I think you better get that before it burns.” Brian teased and Kevin laughed, and rescued dinner. Brian settled down on the couch and watched his cousin.

He loved him. It just grew deeper and deeper over time. Brian looked at Kevin, and realized something else. He didn't want anyone else. Only Kevin. But he didn't know if Kevin felt the same way. He didn't know if he should tell him, either.

They were cousins after all. Kevin knew Brian had something on his mind. He also knew Brian would tell him when they were ready. He just hoped it wouldn’t take him long. Because he had something to tell him, too.

They had no way of knowing that they were thinking the same thing.
