Chapter 3

Kevin kept a close eye on Nick for the next week but the younger man kept to himself. Tiffany called and told Nick she'd be able to come see him and he perked up slightly. Kevin didn't know why but he didn't think it was a really good time for her to visit. His bandmate was obviously going through something serious and didn't need someone else to worry about right then. But knowing his involvement would only be resented, he stayed quiet.

A few hours before Tiffany was to arrive, they boys reserved the pool at their hotel and they all relaxed around or in the water. Howie was lying out trying to perfect the tan on his dark skin. AJ and Kevin were in the pool dunking each other while Nick and Brian sat on the edge.

Nick watched Kevin. God he was beautiful. His bright orange swim trunks showed off his tan to perfection and rode low on his hips. That sculpted chest was breathtaking with water beading on it. When Kevin took a break for a minute, Nick's eyes followed a bead of water on it's path from his slicked back hair over his shoulder to his nipple and down over his abs. Nick had the overwhelming urge to trace the path of that drop with his tongue. To hear Kevin moan his name.....

"Frack man are you even listening?" Brian's voice interrupted.

"Sorry Rok, I spaced out for a minute."

"Yeah I could tell. I'll ask again. Why are you wearing a shirt, man?"

Nick looked down at the t-shirt covering his upper body. "Dunno, just felt like it." He lied. The truth was the more he looked at Kevin's firm body, the more shy he was about his untoned one. For some reason just being around his "older brother" made him insecure. Suddenly he came to a decision. "Rok, can I ask your advice?"

Brian was startled by the quick topic change but used to Nick's jump in topics, he just went with the flow. "Yeah. What is it?"

"You know I'm dating Tiff, right?" Brian nodded. "Well, I'm starting to get feelings for someone else. It's not love or anything, I think it's just physical but it's stronger than anything I've ever felt before."

"But if it's just physical then it won't last. Is she interested in you?"

"I doubt it. This person already has someone."

"Then what are you asking?"

"Is it wrong? I don't love Tiff, she knows that. But this person, my god, Brian, I've reverted back to wet dreams. That hasn't happened since grade school and it's embarrassing!"

"And she has no clue you're dreaming about her?"

"No they don't."

"No it's not wrong but you need to be honest with the person. Maybe it's mutual." Nick snorted and then got serious.

Turning red and looking down he asked quietly, "Even if it's a guy?"

Brian sat in shock for a moment. This was the last thing he had expected, I mean this was NICK of all people.

Nick bit his lip and turned his head to watch Kevin some more. The object of his desire was laughing deeply. The younger man smiled wistfully. This was a recent thing. Kevin never used to smile but ever since he had married Kristen, he was much more relaxed and happy. Nick sighed softly.

Brian watched his friend's eyes land on his cousin and AJ. Looking closer, he noticed Nick's eyes following the oldest backstreet boy, his own cousin, Kevin.. He saw the sadness in his friend's eyes as he watched his friends playing and longed to join in. Brian knew what he needed to say.

"Kevin." He said softly. Nick's head whipped around. "It's Kevin, right?" Nick, looking fearful nodded. "Look. I don't know how to feel. This is quite a bomb to drop. My faith tells me this is wrong. Number 1 being gay is a sin. Number 2 He is married which means adultery.

Now as a person and friend, it doesn't really matter what package you find love in; it's just important you find it. Not attraction though. Kevin's happier than he's ever been, so honestly I think maybe you ought to keep this to yourself for right now." Brian said and Nick nodded in response.

Kevin looked around the pool at his friend's and he noticed that Nick was wearing a shirt. That wasn't like him at all. Perhaps it was time to force that talk. He watched Nick and his cousin talking quietly to one another and smiled. They were so close. He wondered what they were talking about.

"Hey guys! Anyone seen my boyfriend around here?" A female voice called out and Kevin turned to see Tiffany standing at the door with a big smile. Nick immediately jumped up and ran over to his girlfriend.

Picking her up and swinging her around, they laughed before he finally set her down. Taking her into his arms, his lips covered hers insistently. Kevin watched a felt a surge of anger jolt through his body. He frowned.

Brian watched his cousin and realized that perhaps Nick's feelings just might be returned. "Now what do I do?" He asked himself.
