~ He doesn’t love you, I can tell by his charm ~

He had been successfully avoiding JC for three days when the doorbell rang and he opened the door without peaking through the window. His bags were bordering the entranceway, ready to be taken by the driver coming in a few hours to take him back to Virginia Beach. Sleep was outlining his features from the nap he was taking when he was disturbed and he blamed it on that when he opened the door and let momentary surprise come over him.

"JC… Hey," he said slowly and JC smiled before walking past him. Justin closed his eyes at the movement around him, inhaling deeply at the new scent his friend was smelling like. Or had he always smelled like that and he never noticed?

"I heard you were going back to record," JC said behind him and Justin blinked his eyes open before closing the door. "Sorry I haven't been around while you were in town. Adam has been keeping me busy. You know how it goes with new relationships."

"Yeah," Justin rasped out, followed by a quick yawn as he scratched his head and walked past JC. He was walking to the kitchen, with JC following him, going on about activities he and Adam were doing, how Adam and Chris were getting along so well, how Adam just loved Tony's set at his small show, how Adam loved to laugh at JC's jokes so heartily. Justin was mimicking JC with his lips, his back to JC still as he opened the refrigerator and reached for the Sunny Delight.

"Even Dale's dog likes him," JC laughed lightly again as Justin turned back around, seeing JC sitting on the bar at the far corner. He walked to it, standing on the opposite side, and pulled the top off slowly. JC studied him for a moment, avoiding his stare as he looked down to the beverage, even with JC clearing his throat again. "Why don't you like him?"

"Don't you think it's weird how everyone just loves him?" Justin asked, even surprising himself again with his lack of silence. "That's a little weird that he's so…so… so charming."

"But-"

"There are never people that genuine out there, but what if he is? What if he is genuinely a caring guy and he's charming you in the process? Doesn't anyone dislike him?"

"Obviously you do," JC said slowly and Justin took a deep breath before shaking his head and looking down.

"JC," Justin sighed out after a few moments went by with only the dishwasher making noise. "I just am looking out for you."

"I know," JC said and Justin still looked down, afraid that looking up would give him away with his lie. "I think maybe I should cut this visit short."

"Yeah," Justin replied, licking his lips as he continued looking down to the drink. He didn't look up until JC wished him a safe trip and closed the front door behind him.
