Rhinestone Jacket
OBJECT:
MATERIALS:
1. With the inside of the jacket facing you, trace the letters "O-Town" in taylors chalk onto the fabric. Remember to do them backwards (like in a mirror)!!
2. Placing the metal base of the rhinestone through the fabric (on your chalk line) to the other side, carefully flip the jacket over and place the stone inside the four prongs of the base.
3. Using the hand-setting tool, place the little "dish" at the end of the tool over all four of the prongs and press down firmly so that they bend around the stone.
4. Continue steps 1-3 until you have traced all your chalk lines and written "O-Town." Enjoy!
Necklace
You can make a necklace with "letter beads" to spell out whatever you'd like. "Sassy" in the Broadway Mall, Hicksville NY, sells individual letters for about $3 each and chains (of different lengths) for about $5 each. This may seem expensive, but each letter is "jeweled" with either silver or gold jewels - VERY pretty!
Engraved Rings
Have a professional do this! You can buy a ring band of whatever metal you'd like (I prefer sterling silver) and have your local jewler engrave "O-Town" (or something else) into the surface of the ring. Also, Six Flags Great Adventure, NJ has a booth where they engrave rings using the "cut-out" method. For example, if you wanted an "A," they'd cut out a little hole in the top and a space at the bottom so that you could "feel" the letters. For a sterling silver band, this costs $25. Brass is also available.
Charcoal Drawing
Want a VERY unique drawing of the guys? Bring a personal photo or even a magazine picture to a charcoal artist and he'll sketch it out using charcoal. This also works with characaturists who'll do a more "cartoonish" impression of them. You'll most likely be able to find these artists at you local mall or flea market. Prices range around $30 for this art.
Write the "O Town" logo on the back of a denim jacket in rhinestones.
1 denim jacket (available at most clothing stores ranging from $20 to $50), about 100 rhinestones (may be difficult to find, try you local Hobby Shop or Fabric Store) and a rhinestone hand-setting tool (metal or wooden).
You could always do this yourself, its very rewarding to see how it comes out! I'll be scanning my drawing of Jacob soon =)
