O-TOWN IN LONDON

What would you do if your phone rang and you found yourself being invited on a whirlwind trip to London with five talented, not to mention adorable, guys? Did I mention these five young men happen to be Dan Miller, Ashley Angel, Erik-Michael Estrada, Trevro Penick and Jacob Underwood, members of the up-and-coming O-Town and stars of ABC's reality-based program Making the Band? In my case, I shopped like mad, packed feverishly and, oh yeah, had to solve that problem of obtaining a pass-port on short notice. When all was said and done I boarded a plane, with TC's ace photographer Gil in tow, and we were off on our overseas adventure.

ARE WE IN LONDON...OR HOLLYWOOD?

Upon arriving in London, we had just enought time to get in a bit of sight-seeing and a short nap before meeting up with O-Town and heading to a bash at Planet Hollywood in honor of the feature film Longshot, formerly Jack of All Trades. For all of you who have been anxiously awaiting the release of this star-studded flick, which includes cameos by a ton of your faves like Britney Spears, 'N Sync, LFO, Take 5 and, of course, O-Town, Longshot is being released on video in the States in February. You're definitely not going to want to miss the crazy antics or acting debuts that this movie provides.

O-Town's British following was crowded outside of the movie-themed restaurant when we arrived and the boys didn't mind sharing their red carpet entrance by signing dozens of autographs for fans. Inside they captivated pary-goers with a capella rendition of "All For Love" and "Baby I Would," while charming fans and the British press alike. This is one quintet that definitely knows how to work a room. After all of their work was done, and Planet Hollywood's infamous and yuymmy Cap'n Crunch Chicken had been gobbled up, we returned to the hotel to rest up for a long day of sight-seeing.

NATIONAL LAMPOON'S O-TOWN ADVENTURE

A trip to England would not be complete without a little sight-seeing. No-we didn't knock down Stonehenge or drive circes around any famous landmarks. However, since we were all first-time visitors to London, we piled into a van and hit the road in search of a few of the city's famous attractions.

Our first stop was the Tower Bridge, which hovers over the Thames River, where we took a few quick picures and marveled over the fact that we were actually in London! Erik said the city was one of the three places he has always wanted to visit and even though he was feeling a bit under the weather that day, he was making the most of his short time there. O-Town actually had the opportunity to return to the capital city a few weeks later to record tracks for their debut album.

Next up we decided to check out the Millennium Wheel, a monstrous ferris whell that provides an incredible view of the city. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to wait on the long line to take a spin on it, so we headed over to Big Ben where the guys were spotted by a few British fans. Always happy to sign autographs and take photos with their loyal following, Dan, Ashley, Jacob, Trevor and Erik chatted with the exicted girls.

After all of this meeting, greeting and touristy fun- it was definitely time to break for lunch. We settled into a nearby restaurant and munched on platefuls of fish and chips [hey-we were in London] and rehashed our trip so far. When everyone's tummies were happily filled, we set out to find Buckingham Palace, home of the Royal Family. To our surprise-Queen Elizabeth actually drove past us as we were admiring her grandoise home. Now this trip was starting to feel like something out of a movie...

THE BIG NIGHT

With only an hour to spare before wehad to regroup to attend the movie screening, everyone got primped and ready in a hurry. When we met in the lobby of the hotel, there was already a group of fans waiting to see O-Town off as we boarded the van to go to the movie theater. These were some dedicated girls, and some super sleuths to boot-they managed to know where we were going to be at almost every event throughout our trip-even the airport! I was really beginning to undertand the hectic life of a boy band.

Mobs of fans were anxiously awaiting O-Town's arrival at the movie theater and a group of them had the opportunity to sit in on the screening. These girls were so eager to see the increasingly popular quintet that O-Town couldn't take their seats in the theater until all of the fans were seated safely as well.

The lights dimmed and the film opened with none other than the fabulous five themselves. We're not going to give away any of the details, you're going to have to check out the video yourselves. We will tell you that O-Town actually wrote their scenes themselves, and from the audience reaction-these guys should get into screenwriting if they ever tire of their recording gig.

The closing credits rolled and the movie-goers gave the flick thunderous applause-and that's when the insanityl began. As we tried to exit the theater-overzealous fan began jumping over rows, seats and even fellow fans to get a closer glimpse of their favorite O-Towner. In the madness-two teen editors [one being yours truly]got separated from the entourage and caught in the swamp of girls. Fighting for our lives-we emerged from the crowd only to find that we had lost the group. Now this was getting interesting. Forced to exit out a side theater door, we rean around the block to find the van surrounded by fans and everone else was already inside. As we ran up to the van-in began to pull away because so many fans were attacking it. O-Town left us! Not knowing whether to laugh or cry-we hailed a cab back to our hotel [we knew our New York City would come in handy overseas] and we were reunited with our exhausted and apologetic group. Sleepily we retired for the evening to prepare for our early flight home the following morning.

UP, UP AND AWAY

We all boarded our flight the next day still tired from our brief, but adventurous London experience. When we landed seven and a half hours later we exchanged hugs and went our separate ways. While our junket was supposed to be more work than play, Trevor, Ashley, Erik, Dan and Jacob were great traveling partners and made the whole trip a blast...and they were happy.
