everyone to enjoy and learn from.

TO START THE GAME
From the DOS prompt, change to the directory that you installed the game
in. Type PAINT to start the game.

QUIT THE GAME
Click the STOP sign to quit the game.

PAINTING THE PICTURE
Select a color at the bottom of the screen and click on the picture to
paint. To use the paint patterns, the currently selected color becomes
the background color when you select a pattern. Experiment with different
backgrounds and patterns. There are thousands of possible combinations.

TURN THE COLORING BOOK PAGES
Select the arrow buttons to turn the pages.

GO TO A PICTURE
Select the picture list box to display all of the coloring book pictures.
Click on the up down arrow keys to scroll through the pictures. Select
the picture you wish to go to by clicking on its box.

ERASE YOUR PICTURE
To erase the colors on your picture, select the eraser button.

UNDO YOUR LAST COLOR
You may undo your last paint by selecting the undo button.

READ THE STORY AND TAKE THE QUIZ
Click on the story book button to read the Bible story. After reading the
story, you may take the animated quiz.

PLAY THE PUZZLE
Click on the puzzle button to play the puzzle. The picture you are coloring
will be made into a puzzle for you to put together. To move a puzzle piece,
select the square. Move the mouse to where you want to place the square and
then click again. To unselect a square, click on the square again before
moving it.

TURN THE SOUND ON AND OFF
Select the music button to turn the sound on and off.

SELECTING A PRINTER
Before you can print your picture you must press the 's' key to select a
printer. When you press 's' a menu will appear listing over 200 printers.
Select the printer that most closely resembles yours. If your exact printer
is not listed, you may have to experiment until you find one that works.
You can also try the different resolutions, if any, for your printer. This
library of printers does not have the most recent models of printers. Some
of the newest printers just may not work. As soon as I get time I will make
this a Windows program and we will not have this problem anymore.

PRINTING YOUR PICTURE
Click on the printer button to print your picture. You will be asked if you
want to print in BLACK and WHITE or COLOR. If you select color, the picture
will print in color on a color printer or in shades of gray on a black and
white printer. To make a copy of your picture to color with crayons or paint
with your paints, you will want to select black and white. This will print
the picture as a line drawing similar to a coloring book regardless of the
colors you may have on the picture when you select print.

TROUBLESHOOTING
WINDOWS PROBLEMS...Bible Paint is a DOS program. You may run the game
from Windows if you like. The sound and animation timing may be a little
off but it should not be a problem. If you have a sound card the game
should be run from DOS since Windows will not share the sound card with
anyone. You must exit Windows and then run the program from DOS to make
the sound card function properly.

MEMORY PROBLEMS...You must have about 512K free memory for the game to run.
If you receive the out of memory error then you must free some up and then
try again. Refer to your DOS manual on ways to free up some more memory or
try running memmaker. The out of memory error refers to RAM in your machine,
not free space on your hard disk. If you have a sound card, you will need
about 600K free memory. If you have memory problems, select NO when asked
to use the sound card when you start up the game.

SOUND CARD PROBLEMS...If you have a sound card and the game locks up make
sure the settings for the sound card during the start of the program match
your settings on the card. If the settings shown on the startup screen don't
match your card then you can change them by clicking on the CHANGE buttons.
If you still have problems then run the game without the sound card by
selecting NO on the startup screen.

MOUSE PROBLEMS...If you receive the error message "mouse not found", then
you must make sure you are loading a mouse driver at boot up. The Windows
mouse only works on Windows programs and will not work when you exit Windows
or go to the DOS shell from Windows. To load a mouse driver at boot up, place
a command in your autoexec.bat file such as: c:\mouse assuming you have a
mouse driver in the root directory called mouse. If you have never edited
your autoexec.bat file before, you may want to get some help. Do not use a
word processor! You must use an ascii text editor such as notepad or the DOS
editor. You may want to run memmaker again after changing your autoexec.bat
file.

Be blessed and have fun,

Michael Gale
