Written from Joey’s point of view.

"You guys were awesome tonight. I love 'It's Gonna be Me'" a short, attractive girl flirted with me.

"Thanks," I smiled back. I was happy, she was cute, I thought we could have some fun. We had gotten to the party about a half hour ago after performing at the MTV Movie Awards. I decided she deserved more of my attention. I leaned over to whisper into her ear, seeing if she was interested. "I think you're very cute," I said as I looked around the crowded room, gazing at the photographers lining the perch, seeing if any would be able to see if we started to dance.

Her eyes stopped me immediately. I continued to mumble nothings into the girls hair as I became lost in the photographer's brown eyes. I was in shock, and had to keep myself from running across the room and pulling her into my arms. I could see tears glistening her eyes. But those thoughts ceased when I remembered that night months ago. I refocused my attention on the girl in front of me. She would now serve a new purpose. Keeping my mind off Bron.

I began to dance with her, but my eyes kept drifting to the area where I had seen Bronwen standing before. She was gone. It was almost like it had been a figment of my imagination. I looked back down at the girl, who had her hands all over me, and kept dancing.

"Hey Joe," Lance tapped me on the shoulder.

"Yeah, what's up man?" I asked turning around and sliding my arm around the girl.

"Me and Laur are gonna take off, I just thought you should know that we ran into Bron," he yelled over the music.

"Alright, see you guys tomorrow," I answered, ignoring his second comment.

"Are you gonna be ok?" Lauren asked.

"Now why wouldn't I be," I covered for the knots growing in my stomach, and pulled the girl closer to my side, "I 've got..."

She interrupted, "Melissa."

"I've got Melissa here to keep me company," I smiled.

"Ok, see ya at the hotel then." Lance answered walking away, holding Lauren's hand. I hated to admit it to myself but I missed it. What Lauren and Lance had. I missed having someone to call when I just wanted to hear their voice. Someone that I knew would be there in the morning. But I also knew I couldn't go back to it. Not for a long time at least.

The music stopped and everyone's attention was focused towards the entrance of Planet Hollywood. Carson began to give his usual big thanks from MTV for coming out and supporting the show. The room began to be lit up by flashing cameras, everyone rushing in his direction.

I looked back up to the platform and Bron was there again. She was squatting and then standing on her tip toes, trying to get the best angle for a shot. She was so beautiful concentrating on the camera. Her hair was longer. The curls pulled into a loose pony tail at the base of her neck. I remembered when she used to take pictures of me. She'd make me pose, or she'd take them when I didn't know. They were always in black and white. She loved them that way. I couldn't figure out what she was doing there tonight. Maybe she was trying to find me, but I don't think that was it. I found myself hoping that she hadn't compromised her dream. She loved photography as an art work, not for paparazzi stuff.

Carson stopped speaking and I watched Bron put her camera away, cursing myself for showing any concern for her. Melissa was waving her hand in front of my face trying to get my attention.

"Hey there sexy, where were ya?" she asked, rubbing my arm.

I decided I needed a drink.

Tell me what ya think!
