Never Ending Love-Chapter Ten
~4 days Later~
“They had Nintendo, Playstation, AND MTV screenes!!!” Justin exclaimed to Lance, JC, and Chris. He had been realeased from the hopital 2 days ago, and since then, he was as hyper as he ever could be, eating his daily load of cereal a day.
“Whoa, man, we get the picture, there’s no need to make us jealous,” JC stated. They laughed. All except Justin; he pouted.
“I’m not! But you know, hardly any hospitals have MTV screenes!” Justin breathed. MTV screenes were were you could actually press a button on the TV to talk to the DJ, and request songs, and stuff like that.
The guys were in JC’s blue minivan, heading over to Justin’s. Except Joey had a date so he couldn’t make it. Justin was excited, except for the fact that they had to go to New York to promote something for a week. Hmm. I wonder if Kayla could come... Justin thought. He quickly sweeped it away. There was no doubt about it that he was falling for his soon-to-be-sister....
“Justin!” Kayla shouted, running to Justin and squealing as he picked her up off the ground in a big bear hug.
“Aww. Come on, Kay, what about us?” Chris pouted.
“Okay, you weasels!” She giggled. She hugged each member and gave Chris a kiss on the cheek, making him happy once again.
“Hey, Kayla, let’s make a deal!” Chris said.
“Sure. What is it?” Kayla asked. Chris grinned, and Kayla instantly groaned. “Uh-oh,” she muttered.
“Well,” He started, clearing his throat, “By the time we’re both 40, if we’re not married, we’ll get married...” he said. “...to each other!” He exclaimed.
“Um, Chris, it’s a good idea,” Kayla said, Chris’s grin widened, “But when I am 40, you’ll be already 50!” She exclaimed. “The closest I have is with Lance, he’s only 4 years older except for Justin, but he’ll be my step-bro for goodness sakes,” she explained logically.
“So whaddaya think, Poofoo?” She asked.
“Sure, whatever. Not like I won’t be married, considering my Pop status,” he smirked.
“So?? I’m, the furture-sister of Justy, and guys’ll be all over me!” She shot back.
“First of all, are you using me? And second, I dunno if I want all guys all over you...” Justin said.
“Well, it was our parents that are getting married, so it’s not your opinion. Ha! Ha! Haha!” She laughed. Justin pouted. The four other pop sensations shrugged.
“She’s right, you know,” JC pointed out.
“I know she is!” Justin said, trying to seem as if he knew,
“Yeah. Right!” All four members said in unison.
“Damn.” He muttered, as his cell phone rang.
“Hello, Timbo’s Pizza, phone number please?” He answered.
“Justin?” A girl asked on the other line asked.
“Yes? Who is this, exactly?” He asked cautiously.
“Kate. Remember, at Ben’s the other day?” She asked.
“Of course!” He exclaimed. The guys and Kayla gave him a questioning look, but he waved them off.
“Yeah, so I heard about your...breakdown. Are you okay?” She asked.
“Yeah. I’m fine. Say, how’d you get the number?”
“Britney.” She answered.
“Ahhh...!” He said. “Cool.” He finished, but, “You know her?”
“Doesn’t everybody?” Kate asked sarcastically.
“Well, yeah, but I mean, she is usually bitchy sometimes and she gets really jealous, just when I’m checking up on Kayla, here.” He said.She chuckled.
“Yeah, I guess. Hey, I’ve gotta call coming in, but I’ll call you or see you later, okay?”
“Sure. Great to talk to you,” She finished.
“You too, bye now,” and he hung up and quickly pressed to get on the other line.
“Hello, Justin Implant service. Upper body or lower?” He asked. The guys shrugged at Kayla.
“Not my prob his head wasn’t screwed on quite right,” JC muttered. Kayla giggled.
“Hey! How’s it going, dudette? Yes, I am fine. No, actually, I’m not.” He paused a moment and thinked. “Yeah, definetely. Okay, Saturday it is. Bye,” He said and hung up.
“Phew, a lot of phone calls!” He exclaimed.
“Who were they?” Lance asked.
“First was Kate, a friend of Kayla’s I bumped into, and the second was of course Britney Spears!” He laughed. “We’ve gotta date on Saturday, and I’m meeting Kate on Friday, so we can like talk and stuff!” He laughed.
Kayla felt a bit of jealously overcome her. Kayla, come on. It’s Kate. And it’s just a date! Their not going to kiss or anything like that! Plus, don’t you have Jake? She thought.
“I’m going to do some stuff in my room, don’t disturb,” she said, meaninglly looking at Chris and Joey.
“What!?” They exclaimed simuntaneously. Everyone laughed. Kayla left to her room.
She turned on her computer, made a Word document and started to type:
Jealousy
Jealously.
We’have all felt it.
Everyone has it.
And no one can stop it.
So, J and Kate are going out.
But, jeez, Kay, it’is just a date!
And it’s with Kate!
So get it all straight!
Well, why can’t I get it out of my head?
Is this something that can be cured?
Who knows?
Who does not?
All these questions.

Yet, as i sit here, it courses through my veins.
Jealousy.

Wasn’t exactly poetry perfection, but hey, it was pretty good for the first time. Kayla had the sudden urge to pull out her phone. And she did. She took out a piece of paper from her drawer, and looked at it. She got the phone, and started to dial...
1 week later
“You are too funny,” Kayla laughed at Jake.
“I know I am,” he replied., kissing some whipped cream off of Kayla’s nose.
“Hey, let’s go to the Karts,” she suggested. Jake jumped up,
“That’s a great idea! Let’s go!” He said, enthusiastically,
“Okay, okay,” she sputtered. They raced to the ticket line.
“It’s boyfriend versus girlfriend,” Jake said in a fake announcers’ voice. “Who will win?” he laughed. So did she. They got into their carts, and zoomed off at the sound of the signal and whistle.

“So, Brit, what’s been up?” Justin asked Britney.
“Nothing. Justin, I really want to warn you.”
“about what?” Justin asked.
“About Kayla’s boyfriend, Jake.” She said. Jake. He was Kayla’s new boyfriend. I felt jealous inside...but in his heart, Justin knew Kayla was a woman—she turned 18 in mere months—and could make her own decisions.
“What about Jake?”
“Well, I went out with him, and he,” she started. Justin snorted. “This is serious! He tried to rape me!” She said in one breath.
“WHAT?” He shouted.
“Yeah. That’s why you need to tell Kayla. Quick!” She said.
“Thanks, Brit, you’re a lifesaver!” he said. And for once, he really meant it.
“Thanks. I’ll see you tomorrow. Bye!” Kayla waved to Jake’s Mercedes Benz. She turned inside to see Justin in the kitchen.
“Hi Justin, how was your “date” with Britney?” She asked.
“Fine,” he said. “Kayla. Sit down.” She sat.
“What?” She asked.
“Jake...”
“Yes?”
“Jake...is...a...slimy...lizard!” He finished.
“Excuse me?”
“I was with Britney, and she told me that Jake tried to rape her! Now, I’m not trying to jump to conclusions, but just be careful for my sake, okay? I don’t want you to get hurt!” He said. Kayla’s face was red with anger.
“You know what? No! I won’t. I know Jake better than you! I know he would NEVER hurt me! Don’t you see, Justin? This is one of Britney’s cons to make you turn against Jake!” She shouted.
“Kayla!” He started.
“No! I thought you cared about me!” she exclaimed.
“I do! I...I...I love you.” He said. They were silent for a minute.
“Oh, so that’s what it’s about! You love me. Well, there was a time when I did, too, but you went out with Kate and Britney. And that was it, so I went to Jake. So now I can also say that you’re jealous because Jake took my heart....first!” she finished.
“What?” He asked.
“You know what? Forget it!” She ran up the stairs, into her room. He could hear ripping of paper. She was obviously ripping up pictures of Justin that flooded her room.

Kayla tossed and turned in her bed, After hours—or what seemed like them—she finally had settled down in bed. She was outraged that Justin could be so....concieted. “You don’t know anything about Jake,” She muttered angirly at the wall that seperated their bedrooms. She took a look at her once Justin-filled room. In her tantrum, she ripped up pictures of Justin, and put devil horns, as if she was a fan who suddenly hated Justin Timberlake and not a fan who was about to become his step-sister. She felt a stab of guilt pass through her.
“Did I really do the right thing?” She wondered, as she thought aloud. He could have been trying to say something...then again why would he insult Jake? She thought, That’s it! He’s jealous! She sat back, satisfied.
