Chapter Twenty Seven

July 2006
Kelly's POV

By the time Justin finished his story of how Harmony was born and at the end, how JC found out Alleck was on the way, we were in tears from laughing so much. As soon as we would stop laughing, someone would mention something that would make us all laugh again.

After the fifth time or so that we stopped laughing, Chris started to talk. “This is certainly the day for surprises...” He looked at me. “And remembering things you’d probably rather forget...” He looked at Justin. “As for me, I have a surprise of my own.”

We all mumbled things to one another, wondering what on earth Chris was talking about. “For the past seven years or so, I have watched Lance and Kelly...” He looked at us. “Alex and Justin...” He looked at them. “And JC and Briley go through the trials and tribulations of finding the one they are meant to be with.” Lance took my hand and gave it a loving squeeze. “Everything from JC thinking Briley was completely stupid when they first met...” JC blushed and Briley gently kissed his cheek. “From Kelly’s parents making her and Lance break up...” Nobody said a word. “To them getting back together. To Justin and Alex meeting over the phone and Alex telling Justin how stuck on himself and conceited he really is...” I smiled at the memory. “To Joey meeting Baylee and them getting more serious.” Joey put an arm around her.

“’N Sync has been going strong for years now,” Chris continued. “We’ve seen so many people come and go that have worked for us and been involved with us in some way. One of those people that have came and gone was a choreographer’s assistant that was helping us shoot a video.” Jen smiled at him. “Her name was Jen. After the video, I couldn’t help but wonder if I would ever see her again. But thanks to Kelly, Briley, and Alex visiting us and a stupid thing on MTV, we went to Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, and I found her again.” I looked around the group. It surprised me. I had never seen Chris that serious. “It wasn’t until she agreed to go on a date with me that I knew love to it’s fullest.” Chris took a deep breath. “Jen is my best friend and I can’t imagine my life without her.” Chris stopped, got down on one knee in front of Jen and took one of her hands. “Jenny, will you marry me?”

She didn’t say anything for a moment, she just allowed the tears to fall down her cheeks. When she did get to answering, she couldn’t. She just nodded her head and continued to cry. Chris pulled a small black velvet box out of his pocket and pulled the ring from it and placed it on her finger. With that, he got up and hugged Jenny, and then, he kissed her, and from what it looked like, there was more love in that kiss than I have ever seen Chris give.

I looked around the group with the hugest smile on my face. And I noticed that everyone else either looked happy or surprised. When Chris and Jenny ended their kiss, Chris jumped up in the air. “Wahoo!! I’m getting married!”

Hearing him say this took me back to the week Lance and I got married. Ever since I was a little girl, I imagined my wedding to be perfect. Over all, it was perfect. There were just some small imperfections along the way that made the event memorable.
