Buuuuuuuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Britney's alarm woke her up at 7am on the dot. Today was the day that she and Justin were going to let the world know they were no longer together. The beginning of a new life with her new love would start today. She couldn't wait. She hopped into the shower and sang to herself. She couldn't stop smiling.

After she put on her appropriate clothing for the press conference, her make-up team and hairstylists filed in to her hotel room and did their job. And of course, Fe was close behind.

"Ok, today is your big day. How do ya feel?"

"Oh, Fe, its like I'm a new woman. I can't wait to experience life with Dan. It feels so great!" Britney beamed.

"Britney, the only thing I want you to remember is to keep your calm in that conference room,okay? Don't get bent out of shape. I know how you can be."

Britney rolled her eyes. She hated being treated like a robot. Britney, wear this. Britney, say this. Britney, act like this. Enough already!

A couple hours had passed, and it was now 9am. The time that was announced to the press when the news conference was to begin. Everybody had filed into THE W Hotel's conference room. People from all over the country such as MTV Asia, Much Music , Musique Plus, and Top Of The Pops and that wasn't even including the teen magazine editors from CosmoGIRL, Teen People, YM, and Seventeen.

As if on cue, Johnny Wright stepped onto the make-shift platform. On one side was a table for Britney, Fe, Big Rob, and her attorney, Larry Rudolph. On the other side was a table for himself, Justin, and Lynn Harless. He walked to the his seat and was quickly followed by the aforementioned persons. Johnny was the first to talk. Since he was the one who was held responsible for the mess, he was going to clear his name, beginning now.

"Hello everyone. My name is Johnny Wright. I'm *NSYNC's mananger and Miss Spears co-manager. I am here today to announce the break-up between my 2 clients, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. Actually, we are here to set the truth because my clients believe that the fans deserve to know what really happened. We will hold nothing back,"he let out a chuckle," well, nothing that pertains to this anyways. So I will begin by saying that Justin and Britney fell out of love. I was the idiot that came up with the idea of having them fake their relationship for awhile because I feared it would ruin their careers. I know its a rather stupid thing for me to have done. I have no excuse other than selfishness. I will admit to that. Well, thats my side of the story. We will now have Justin start and Britney will follow. We will then allow for you, the media, to ask questions for approximately ten minutes. We hope you cooperate. Justin, whenever you are ready...." Johnny leaned back in his chair and sighed. His part was done. Now he would get to hear what Justin had to say. Justin refused to let Johnny read his notes and he was kinda glad he did. Less worries or him.

Justin sat forward, licked his lips, and with his head down and eyes looking up at the crowd, he began.

"Thank you for coming today. I think Johnny basically covered the main points but I feel its my duty to give you details. Basically, I'm just gonna fill in the gaps and tell thr truth. I can't go on in my life knowing I hurt the one person i have ever loved and lost all of it over one stupid mistake. The reason that Britney and I broke up is because I'm a pig. I cheated on her." He stopped and looked at the crowd, making eye contact with some of the reporters. Everyone was leaning in and taking it all in. "It happened after the end of our tour. I was chillin by myself and the temptation was there. I didn't mean to hurt her and it may sound stupid but its the truth. I was drunk and stupid. I missed her like crazy but she in Europe doing a tour. I couldn't help myself. She found out by watching MTV NEWS a couple of weeks later. And thats how it ended."

He looked over at Britney and suprisingly, she was looking back at him. They shared a silent apology. She looked away before anyone else would notice and began her side.

"Justin and I have been apart since August 2001. Its true, I found out about the affair while watching MTV. Its like a reoccuring nightmare, but I have to live it in my head everyday. However, in September, I met my current boyfriend, Dan Miller from O-town. He was been a rock to me and I feel like I'm in high school. Hes so sweet and I love him very much. I will admit that when Justin and I were together, I loved him,too. However, due to the circumstances that occurred, I cannot love someone who has broken my trust. So, basically, to all the *NSYNC fans, he's single and go get 'em, girls."

The room laughed, much to Britney's relief. The mood was way too serious and she had to do something. They weren't at a funeral, no one had died. There was no need for the somber mood.

All could she think about was getting back to the hotel and being with Dan. He made her feel so special. He was too good to be true. The rest of the O-town was planning a mini-party on their hotel room floor to celebrate Britney & Dan's relationship later that night. They were such a trip. She couldn't wait to go on tour again with them. They were like one big happy ending.

She realized she was daydreaming again when Felicia grabbed her hand. "Brit, the conference is over. You ready to head back and relax?"

"Yes, Fe....lets get the hell outta here. I'm ready to start my new life."

Fe smiled and gave Britney a big hug. Big Rob escorted them to their van with the tinted windows and they happily drove back to their hotel.
