RealAudio Tribute to

"The Saint Trop"
In 1966, the best music and fun

in Estartit, Spain
(Pronounced S-Tar-Teat)
You just had to be there. Any night and all summer long
Yes, I lived there. January 1966 to June 1967 and WOW!

From 1963 to 1967, I was in the United States Coast Guard. They maintained long range aids to navigation stations around the world. I spent 17 months, at one in Estartit, Spain. It was quite an expierence. In the summer the town swelled with French, English, Swiss, Scandinavian and other tourists. The biggest majority were female. No need to go any further with that. There was a nightclub called "Saint Trop". These song's were taken from an 8" reel to reel tape made in the club, 36 years ago. The tape is 3 hours long and has 92 songs. Some songs are repeated. I've replaced some with better quality versions. Some have incorrect names or are missing the name of the singer. I never wrote down this information. Any and all help, in tracking down this information, will be welcome.

* This page is dedicated to everyone who ever visited Estartit and to A.M. from London who moved to New York with her sister. Would love to find her to say Hi.
They were just great fun times and good memories!

Many thanks to all of you who have responded to help track down the
Title's & Artist's from the "Mystery" songs below.

* My very sincerest thanks to Reinhard in Austria, for finding the correct title for "Rainbow '65" by Gene Chandler and "Red Hot" by Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs. Now in January 2004 he's come up with two more. "Hide & Seek" by Sheep and "Funny, How Time Slips Away" by Georgie Fame.

* Ken "That Man From Manchester," England, has done it again. He tracked down the correct Title & Artist for "Shake Your Hips" by Slim Harpo. He also found the correct Title & Artist for "Take A Heart" by The Renegades, for "Love Me, Please Love Me" by Michael Polnareff. My version was incomplete for 36 years. He also found the title "Gloria's Dream" by Belfast Gypsies. Thanks KEN so much!

* Applause to Paul from Louisiana who tracked down the song "Sugar Puddin'" by Percy Sledge. He also thinks that "Everybody's Going Round And Round" is by Them with Van Morrison. Many thanks friend!

*My sincere thanks to Marten from Pasadena for finding the Title and Artist for the French songs "Et moi, Et moi, Et moi" by Jacques Dutronc and "Nathali" by Gilbert Bécaud. Never thought I'd track these down.

* Applause is to Bill from Memphis who tracked down the song "Ninety Nine And A Half" by Wilson Pickett. Many thanks to a good friend!
