golden

An innocent amongst the tainted.
A flame so bright and pure,
Yet to be extinguished.
A holy grail yearned to be touched by many.
He remains golden…

Young and beautiful,
Unbeknown to his charms
For he has charmed them all.
A peaceful calm amongst the turbulent.
He is their light,
A god set to idolize after for the ages.
He remains golden…

Age becomes apparent
And with age brings hardness;
The light is overtaken by the dark.
A count for the tainted,
No longer the untouchable,
As the true beauty disappears
And fame takes its toll.
The storm begins to rage
And the flame is put out.

Soon we come to find that all
that is golden becomes lackluster in the end.
