I was born in the village of Inverness. It is located on the western shore of Cape Breton Island, about an hour from the Canso Causeway on the Ceilidh Trail (Route 19). I moved to Ontario in 1997 but my heart and soul will forever be in the maritimes. You can take the girl out of Cape Breton but you can't take Cape Breton out of the girl! That saying never made sense to me until I moved away. I used to take things for granted when I lived within a stone's throw from a mile long beach and breathing the salt air. Now that I've been away from it, I miss it dearly and I yearn for my short but sweet vacations every few years. I miss the friendly people and the relaxed atmosphere. I miss the scottish culture and heritage but most of all I miss all of my friends and family.
