(Katrillion) -- Being in a boy band isn't easy.
That's why *NSYNC have stepped up to support Backstreet Boy AJ McLean during his hospitalization for alcohol, depression and anxiety problems.
"I hope he gets better," JC Chasez said at a recent press conference promoting the group's new album, Pop, which is due July 24. "It's kind of sad that he has a problem like that and, I mean, I wish the guy the best ... I hope he pulls it together. At least he's admitted to himself he has a problem and that's pretty much the first step."
Lance Bass added, "Our prayers are with him, you know?"
Meanwhile, the Backstreet Boys' management company, The Firm, has released a statement addressing rumors started by a nationally syndicated gossip columnist. The Firm says the tour has not been canceled and the group is not about to call it quits.
