The Backstreet Boys have postponed all their summer tour concerts through August 6, including the pop quintet's final three shows at the FleetCenter.

The reason for the postponements: band member Nick Carter fractured his right hand Saturday, according to a press release received by The Boston Globe. Carter plays drums.

The teen-idol pop music group had three more shows (tonight and Tuesday and Wednesday evenings) scheduled at the Fleet this week.

Other tour dates listed on their Web site before August 6 include East Rutherford, N.J.; Uniondale, N.Y.; Cleveland, Ohio; Tinley Park, Ill.; and Minneapolis, Minn.

Organizers at the FleetCenter said today the Boston concerts are expected to be rescheduled.

"Ticket holders should retain their tickets, as they will be good for subsequent dates," according to a press release on FleetCenter.com.

"When the new dates are announced, all tickets will be honored and will be good for their corresponding replacement dates," the press release stated. "If any ticket holder would like a refund prior to the new dates being announced, they can be obtained only at the point of purchase."

The Boys played a sold-out show at the Fleet on Friday and another one on Saturday. Each band member also threw out a pitch before yesterday's Red Sox game at Fenway Park. Carter's hand was in a cast at the ballpark.
