A little about Sarah said by Sarah
Originally from Santa Monica, California, Sarah spent
her younger years in Oregon. Her parents loved music
and it is there that Sarah was introduced to the
artists that still inspire her today. Echoing through
the house on any given day would be The Beatles, The
Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell, Elton John, Eric
Clapton, Elvis Costello, and Stevie Wonder. Sarah
started singing in front of complete strangers and
quickly found out that she loved singing no matter who
was around.
After a few years the family moved back to Los Angeles, California. It was there that Sarah was about to hit the stage for the very first time. At the age of eight, Sarah's mother took her to a local musical theatre for an audition.
"I quickly discovered that performing was in my soul and it was what I wanted to spend my life doing."
Singing and acting seem to come very natural to her. A well-respected adult actor in the group took special interest in her performances and suggested she meet with his management team. She did, and within weeks, Sarah was appearing on "Who's the Boss", "The Wonder Years", "Family Ties", as well as others. Sarah juggled her newfound love of acting while in junior high school. In between studying and keeping her grades up, Sarah would still find the time to make auditions and acting workshops. When Sarah was thirteen she got a job at a recording studio. It was a place where people off of the street could come in and record their favorite artists' hit songs and take a cassette copy home with them.
" I worked the front desk for awhile and then I was trained to engineer the sessions. At night I would engineer my own sessions, push the record button and then run into the booth to make sure I was there in time for my first note."
Sarah practiced constantly, singing songs by artists that challenged her vocally and who she admired, thus recording almost every Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey song she could get her hands on. Quickly after that, she started working with producers such as, Missy Elliott and Timbalind singing background vocals for many well known artists such as Toni Braxton, Nancy Wilson and Jodeci just to name a few.
Throughout the years Sarah has become an amazing singer/songwriter and continues to sing from her soul. She has been making a splash on the L.A. scene with her captivating stage presence and undeniable vocal ability. Sarah's sold out shows at The Mint, The Roxy, The Cinegrill, The famous Whiskey A Go Go, and Pro Jam at Barfly, have resulted in a loyal and loving following of fans. L.A.'s best kept secret is truly about to be told...
