Awakening one early morning
I had beaten the sun to rise
Climbing slowly from the bed
I wiped the sleep gently from my eyes
Then I stood before the wondow
And admired the dimly lit horizon
My heart and mind raced quickly
The reason was no longer surprisin'
Here was I the stranger
A real baby in the woods
I'd loved my girlfriend from afar
And she returned it with the goods
A home deep under the hills
And love more than I've ever known
It was a romance too big to share
It was ours to call our own
And there she lie asleep
Her face aglow the beauty
Though I longed to see her smile
To undisturb her was my duty
I took this time to reflect on things
To remember my life before
To know however brief my time was here
Right now it was everything and more
Tomorrow had yet to arrive for me
And I know that it'll never come
So I'll enjoy my time and worry no more
And be happy with my beloved one
