Torn Souls

I never felt a pain, like the day I had to choose. I never knew, I never knew that I could break your heart. How can a soul be torn in so many different ways? And how do I stop the hurting after all the days? I never thought that tears could burn, running down my cheek. And I never knew a simple choice would affect me this deep. How can a soul be torn in so many different ways? And how do I stop my heart from breaking with each word you say? I’m not sure if I win or lose because this is not a game. How do I know if fate decided for us to go our separate ways? How can my soul be torn, in all these different ways? And how do I keep my heart from breaking each and every day? I wrote this song after I broke up with someone who means a lot to me. I still love him and always will.
