It stood tall, a towering piece of steel. Manipulated into something to either scare or excite. It was the highlight of the park, the reason people came. This was the steel phantom. It was green now, painted to show how modified it was. It was revamped, to give it a cutting edge, after all, it was getting old. But now the paint was fresh, the curves shaper than they once were; the line twice as long.
She stood about 5’7" and it was her first trip to the park that season. She loved the old phantom, and she knew she would love the new one. She was alone at the time, her friends were all busy that day and she stood in the bright morning sun waiting for her first ride. She was the first one in line, the ride hadn’t even started yet, but she was there. She watched as people walked by, she stood quietly in her tank top and jean shorts, slightly uncomfortable at the prospect of spending all day alone. She saw a couple walk by, they looked up at the ride. They seemed innocent and young; they kept walking.
The line opened up and they began filing towards the loading station. Before she moved she looked back once, she saw a guy who caught her attention. His spiked borown hair was gelled to perfection. He was just in a t-shirt and khaki shorts, so simple and sexy. She wished she could have watched him, but she had to move forward, but, before she did, she gave him a quick smile. She walked up to the first car and sat down. They came around checking the seat belt and lap bars of the riders. They gave the thumbs up and the car made it’s way slowly up the first hill. She felt the cool breeze brush her neck as they approached the top of the hill. She put her arms up as they speed quickly down the hill. She laughed to herself. "This is going to be awesome"
